Android Auto?

Has anyone updated their bmw to android auto? If so how and did you use Bimmer Tech? Are you happy with the upgrade?

Looking for the answer to this also. I have an 18 (NBT Evo) as I understand it and I can't find a straight answer or demo on youtube.

Interested in this Bimmertech mod but, again nothing definitive and according to the site, it only supports 2016 models (NBT)

For NBT EVO it’s possible to have Screen Mirroring - Miracast which is basically copy of your phone screen to your iDrive Screen. It works on all F3x/F8x from 07/2016.

It's annoying how out of date idrive 4 is, I'm debating just swapping out into one of those Android 9.0 systems. I had one previously in my last car and it was a bit glitchy, but the newer ones seem to be better units.

Do we need to enable it through coding?

It can be enabled through coding, but without video in motion activated, it is useless, because you can use it only stationary.

You also need a phone that does support Miracast. Pixel series does not.

I put my vin in the compatibility checker on BimmerTech's site - says my car is compatible even though it's a non NBT 2015 with ID4. Not sure how that's possible.
