Preowned M4 - how would I know if it has bootmod3?

I bought a '15 M4 with 27K miles in March of this year (my first M car). One thing people always commented on was how loud the stock exhaust was - that it seemed louder than theirs (M3 or M4) etc. It was really loud. Fast forward to about 2 weeks ago. I put a BMS S1 and BMS intakes on. My wife and I took it for a ride and the very first thing she said to me as we drove off was "it seems much quieter!"... She's right too, it does seem quieter. Booo!

After reading through here about Bootmod3 and seeing how there are exhaust flap and burble settings there it got me wondering. Does my car have this? And by putting the BMS S1 on, did it step on it (shut off the settings)? Is that even possible? How would I know? Sorry for the novice question.

You should be able to reach out to BM3 with vin and ask them. But it wouldn't matter anyway since you would need to purchase a new license I believe or obtain from the previous owner.

Likely just a placebo effect. JB Stage 1 does not have the capability of altering the exhaust note, or at the very least control the factory exhaust valves.
