Opinions on current market value
Buying a new home and considering selling my car for some extra cash. Wanted to ask you guys your opinions based on the recent work done to the car. Its a 2017 M4 comp package in a 6 speed manual. Currently at 60,800 miles and I am the second owner. No reported accidents and exterior is 9.5/10 and interior 8.5/10. Only issue interior wise is wear on the drivers side bolster which is normal on these cars otherwise the rest of the interior is 10/10. Car is completely stock aside from an aftermarket V-Style cf diffuser(no name) and no name cf sideskirts. Reason why I want your input is I very recently had my clutch, throwout bearing and full transmission swapped with new parts by BMW literally 200 miles ago at 60,600 miles. See thread below for more info on that:
https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1811722 So again only 200 miles ago and new clutch isnt even broken in yet. Car also has service history through bmw dealerships only. What do you guys think fair ask for this car would be? Posting pictures and window sticker below. This isnt a listing, just wanted to ask mainly if the new trans affects the value. If this thread doesnt belong here please direct me to the correct place. |

don't really think the new parts will make much difference in either private party or trade in sale, a good place to get the value is the carfax car care site, i use it to track and log my maintenance as well.

I'm going to take a wild guess and say it's around $44-46k private party? That means trade in would be around $38-41k I believe. The high miles definitely hurt the price.
Nice car, if I were you I'd just keep it. If you're replacing it with something else you're not going to be able to get anything too nice in this crazy used car market to still have a decent chunk of money to put down on the house. If not buying another car, that makes more sense but you're going to hate to see it go! |

Get an online quote from Carvana, Shift and Vroom. If you have time go to Carmax and get an in-person quote. Check Edmunds, NADA and Kelley Blue Blook. Look at for sale ads for 2016-2018 M3s on Craiglist, Facebook Marketplace, Cargurus, Autotrader and Cars.com. Average them all out and you've got your answer.
