And yet we will still complain about how their not sufficient for the road.

Personally , I think the f30 is asthetically is only a small evolution from the e90. The m3 f30 looks sufficiently close to the e90 for me not to justify upgrading on looks alone

Looking very good.

I'm sure that those flared fenders will look even more flared in person (and without the camo of course).

+1 I can't agree more.

I hope the hood is not at such a horrible angle either. Maybe it wont look like a buluga whale.

well, i like the front but the rear is just plain blah... hope it is not final design yet. Actually, I think F30 must have had this front and M3 deserves something more agressive...

BMW used yellow decades ago as factory color for them as well.

Other brands like Buick have Yellow DRLS.

than 1.067 m above the road surface measured from the center of the lamp
on the vehicle at curb weight, and shall be symmetrically disposed about
the vertical centerline of the vehicle.
Doesn't matter if they are DRLs or not. If they are a distracting color they are illegal. A yellow like on the ALMS cars MIGHT be able to pass, but it would depend on the officer.
Thats amber not yellow. Look up the legality of colored halos. They are illegal.

im not part of the testing crew i just photoshop, its just a hood gap like any other i think the camo tape makes it look different i dont know but its definitely not a vent of any kind.

this looks excellent. but i cant help thinking that one reason why the front end looks so good is because the area between the grille and the headlight is camo'd up.

i went to take my car to the dealer for service and i saw the f30 3 series in the show room side by side next to the 2011 E92 3 series. the E92 is definitely nicer. the front end on the F30 is so ugly, i mean theres a good side to it and a bad side. the good side is that the shape of the headlights are aggressive but the gap is not necessary and very pointless. the hood shape is flat and has no depth to it. it doesnt look BMWish but everything from the driver door to the rear is perfectly fine and way nicer than the E90 sedan without a doubt. and im glad the F80 M3 wont have that rear bumper "smile" if you know what i mean. where the bumper swoops up towards the tail lights. it will be straight on the M3's as far as my eyes can see through the camo.

It doesn't depend on the officer- it depends on the Federal laws and if the car comes from the factory meeting those laws no-one can ticket you as the car is factory legal, swapping out bulbs etc. is a different story and the halos are now the DRLs so they would only need to meet those regs (which I posted)

I'm pretty sure there is no law on the books for "halos". LEDs were technically illegal for DRLs up until a few years ago but the law was adapted, and "yellow" is legal according to MV laws,- purple is obviously not.

Will the front end be the same with the F32 coupe M3 (or M4)? Like the e90 with the e92 / e93?

The LCI E92s are a really nice shape in the front. But the F30 looks 2X better than the E90 sedan, IMO. Lines are sharper (no droopy bumper, better LED halos), and the F30 rear end doesn't look all "pinched". The rear lights are better too, whereas the E90 LCI tail lights look like they're trying to fit a round peg in a square hole.

With all that in mind, I think the F80 might end up being the best proportioned, best looking 4-door vehicle in BMWs line-up.

I agree with you, love the overall look of the F30/F80. It is much more modern and less fussy to me, even the new headlights and kidneys look good but they are a departure from the norm so they may not be for everyone. I do think if the F80 carries the chrome kidneys over it will be a shame, I think gun metal or something like that Ferric Grey they have been throwing around would look sportier/meaner.

The F80 will have some serious haunches it appears and will be more aggressive than the previous E90M3 in that regard. Love the whole thing and glad M is sticking with the four door 3er.

If the worst thing that happens is we get chrome kidneys on the F80 as stock equipment, I think we'll be OK

The F30 almost seems like it was designed with the F80 in mind, i.e. the F80 will be the most perfect proportions for the chassis itself. Sometimes I think the E90 M3 (and a slight bit of the E92 M3) just look a bit too much like swollen/overweight versions of the base series.

And I can't get the interior of the F3x series out of my head! The "openness" of the dash compared to my E92 w/Nav is fantastic. The cameras all around are a pure win, not to mention the HUD....the tech on these cars is a geek's dream. Go ahead and bash me for not pushing back on just how far BMWs have come from their "pureness". I am in the car running errands or hauling my family around 90%+ of the time, I enjoy the comfort. These are $70K cars after all, not track-spec Miatas.
