Bosch high power spark plug vs regular

Need to by new plugs. Any difference other than price?

ZMR5T99330 = high power "BMW plugs" at 24.00 each

ZR5T99330A = Bosch "OE" at 6.00 each

What's the deal?

Please double check available Bosch/BMW part numbers at FCP Euro...

No tune = stock plugs
Stg1/2 tunes = NGK 97506
Hotter tunes = hi power plug (only if tuner requests)

Same with gaps, stock is 32-31, stages get 23-21, and if tuner asks you might do 18 (0.018"). Most NGK users gap 0.023"

I have. Per real OEM, turners etc the Bosch high power = BMW branded = ZMR5TPP330

The OM Bosch substitution = ZR5TPP330A also known as Bosch 8165 double platinum. Not described as high power.

Aren't they the same exact plug? One is just BMW branded.. that's what I've always assumed.

That's the logical conclusion. Just wondering if anyone knows of a definitive difference. One made in China vs Germany? The high power description is the only one I can find along with M in the part number.

To add to the knowledge base: As I have an extended warranty I decided to go with the exact plug spec'd for the car and picked them up at the dealer. After inspecting the plug the ZMR5T99330 part number is engraved on the plug and it also says Bosch Germany on the plug. So if inspected you can tell the difference at a minimum between the M and non M plug. Are they functionality different that is still unknown. The M plug is described as high powered whatever that means.

i finally experienced ZR5T99330A.
it only lastest in my car for less than 15k km or 1 year.
was all good... then suddenly realise that i have some mis firing issue.
datalog showed misfiring at around 4.5k multiple cylinder. but the misfiring amount is not very big... showing like highest 19 times on one of the cylinder.

tearing out the spark plugs, found out that it's all dark brown including the ceramic insulation. mechanic says it's being overheated.

well.... my car highly tuned. running 600bhp stage 2. 2x session of track day and one year of normal driving.

My go to plugs now (pump gas / E85 / everything in between) is NGK F8S gapped at .019.

Never had a misfire issue.

I am getting ready to change out my plugs. I dont know if we really got an answer of if there is a big difference between the two and if it really is a logo only difference.

But would love to only purchase them for 6 bucks a plug vs the 24.

I am stock so thinking the 6 dollar plugs would work.

They are the exact same plugs with the same heat range. The “hi power” plugs are just what bmw calls them while slapping a M logo on them. I ran the 330A in my m2 and now in my m3
