Old post, but I have a question. How does extended leather differ from the simply leather options on a 3 or 5 series for instance? Is "leather" on those different from "extended leather" on something like the F80?

Dakota leather is highly processed leather. While durable, it feels quite cheap. M3 to M6 has merino leather. It is much softer and has more upscale feeling to it. However, if not cared properly, you can easily ruin the leather (eg. dry & cracked leather). *Treat your leather like human skin. Giving good coffee aroma will give it some more longevity (not scientifically proven but approved by Lups). Last edited by parky1215; 05-08-2014 at 04:27 PM.. |

You get less leather on the front seat because entire back side on M3 seat is plastic. |

I got extended leather with CF trim and I love it...I didn't feel the full leather made a big difference for me.

I have the full leather in Sakhir orange in my SO M4. I looks spectacular!! The combination makes my car look more like $100,000 than it's actual $77,000 sticker, and I didn't have to pay $5000 for BMW Individual to get it!

Same here Full SO on order. In the UK it's quite a reasonable upgrade to a full leather cabin.
Just needs Alacantara headlining IMO but never mind.
