Can we please talk about the fact that the exhaust pipes are all the way on the outside of the rear frame? How did that not bother anyone? Do you think that's next year's LCI?

Clearly M3s. Why go though more expense of modifying a 3er to look like an M3 for a movie with a nuts budget.
Even the one with the motor removed has all the coolers in the lower front fascia intact.
$60 grand a car or $45 grand a car doesn't really matter, clearly.

I bet the movie company ordered 2 or 3 genuine M3's for close-up shots etc.. The rest I am sure are clones.. 335i's with m3 body kits for the wrecking scenes...

If you look at one of the wrecked cars in the pic, the front gold caliper is a small sized caliper spray painted gold and not a true CCB system...

im sure the cars are a mix of real and fake...it has to be. it would be extremely stupid and irresponsible to spend $XX on a bunch of expensive cars that are only going to be destroyed....regardless of how much money the movie is going to make.....especially in a world thats all about pocketing dollars.

All this talk of these being "fake" M3s makes no sense to me. The only reason you can even buy an M3 for $70k is because of mass production. I'd bet that it would be more expensive to build a fake M3 than it would to just take a vanilla M3 of the assembly line, because exceptions are expensive. Think about how much it costs just to get an individual paint color. There are a lot of external differences on the M3 when compared to the base 3 series. This seems like a lot of exceptions.
