Angry Brake Light Control Failure?

Help! June 2014 M4

Symptom: light press on brakes and no fault, slightly harder press and error appears ...then disappears when letting off brake pedal.

Brake lights / all bulbs work fine;

I’ve checked the earth / wiring plugs for melted pins etc (all look like new)

Replaced brake bulbs

Replaced bootlid fog bulbs (as someone said they are designed to light under emergency braking)

Replaced brake light switch on brake pedal.

Any other little DIY checks? Local independent is £75 to plug computer in, I’m kind of thinking it’s something easy I could try out first?

Many thanks

Just had a quick look on the net and found this:
- "Might be worth checking if the switch/wire under the brake pedal has worked loose or fallen off?"
- "Yep, had a quick look and indeed the plug going into micro switch on the pedal wasn't connected properly, so all sorted now."

Hope this helps.

Thanks for that, yes I saw that too! They describe the brake pedal switch, but for me that was fine as I unplugged the said lead and into the new one and it does the same! Thanks
