Damn I wish I could get into a gt4. All the dealers around me are asking a min. Of 20k markup. If a dealership would sell me one at Msrp I'll jump on it right away.

I thought they were all sold out. Anyone know of a dealer that has an allocation?

Pacific Porsche told me they had one more allocation but that was two weeks ago. I'm sure it is spoken for by now. They were offering it to me 25k over sticker.

I hear ya, but the world is full of suckers and people with money to burn (a constituency that rarely has patience). I wouldn't be surprised at all if they sell it for that considering the rarity of allocations.

I was looking at some selling at or below msrp on the used market. There are quite a few out there.

I am lucky enough to have both a GT4 and M3, and I have fun in both on track. M3 needs brake pads and r comp tires for track work, but otherwise very robust so far on track.

Personal choice depending on your needs, drive both and the decision should be straightforward.

Really can't find any here in Los Angeles. I found one with like 3k miles on it and they asking for more than Msrp for.

Buy buy buy if the spec is right. The only way the price of these cars are going is up!

Yeah, that's unfortunate. Been hearing about the markups in LA area. Most dealers on the east coast have been charging MSRP as far as I know. I went into my dealer last year, said I want in on the waitlist, signed on the dotted line for MSRP.

It actually was the most painless car purchase I have ever had! Since it was pretty much agreed, without a word spoken, that MSRP was going to be the final price.

Most members on the Rennlist GT4 forums have paid MSRP just from the conversations I've seen for the past year.

Even at MSRP, I'd do it. But $20-25K over...no way.

Looking at that red GT4 above. Damn that thing is pure tits

Every used GT4 on autotrader is over $100k.

The GT4 stock wheels are top notch. Comp pack M3/4 designers/engineers should have taken note.

I may be in the minority here but, I will never understand why people want to buy an expensive new car as nice as the M3/4 only to gut/cage it and then go rag it out by racing it. Maybe they just have that much more disposable income than I do or maybe people mistake just being on a track for actually racing, IDK. I can totally see doing HPDEs to enjoy the car to it's potential but, I couldn't bring myself to actually race this car.

Now something like an E36 M3 is a different story, you can find one of them that has lived a good life, needs a bit of work and won't break your heart (or bank account) when you run out of talent and smack the wall with it. That I get.

Op, If you think you want to go racing, I'd say while you still have the X5 take your M4 mod budget, go buy a small trailer and a rotax or, if you aren't scared of dying, a shifter kart. Then you can learn all about driving and racing on track without the vehicle covering for a lot of your bad habits that you don't even know you have. You'll end up a better driver for it.

As a heads up, Porsche just mentioned that new Cayman S (350hp turbo 4) runs the ring in 7:42 or 2 seconds more than GT4 and 1s quicker than C63 S AMG coupe. We'll see where m3/4 comp package fits within those times...

I know it's a turbo 4, but a CS is definitely on my radar for next car. Those are impressive numbers!
