CS Steering Wheel Recovering

I've got a CS wheel that's in pretty rough shape. Does anyone know of a shop that can recover it to OEM specs? Everyone I've reached out to has said they can't replicate the CS style wheel so I figured I'd check if anyone knows of a shop that could.
Thanks,
Mike

You should be able to wash it with Dawn dish soap and a microfiber towel with warm water to get the nap freshened or un-matted, unless you have rips or tears that will make it good as new

What do you mean by rough shape? Pics? If you're talking about the alcantara looking matted and gross there are ways to bring it back. But please don't use dawn like another poster mentioned. You'll have a soapy mess for weeks.

Even if the steering wheel hasn't been cleaned in ages, it can still be brought back to life and look like new. I have bought two used M Performance Alcantara ones that had never seen any TLC before.

No cleaner is needed at all, but it can help. I have the BMW Alcantara cleaner which, I believe, is just re-bottled Sonax.

Anyway, here is my process for a beaten up Alcantara steering wheel.

1. Soak MF towel(s) in warm water
2a. Spray the steering wheel with Sonax/BMW cleaner (optional)
2b. Fold it and keep rubbing it (use some pressure too)
3. Dry the thing with dry MF towel(s)
4. Use soft toothbrush to "wake up" the Alcantara fibres
5. Rub it again with dry MF towel
6. Leave it to dry overnight
7. If it still doesn't look alright, repeat the process

It's really easy to restore but takes more time than leather.

For terribly matted alcantara you can use sandpaper to restore it quicker than this method

Faster? Yes, but what about all the dirt and oils trapped in the fabric?

Sorry I assumed you'd get that you'd still have to clean it using some alcantara cleaner.

This is replacing your toothbrush and repeat steps as you'd only have to do this once to restore it. Using a toothbrush you'd probably have to repeat your process a half dozen times for really matted alcantara.

For normal maintenance, yes, using a toothbrush or some soft bristle brush would be the right thing to do. But if it's really bad, using this sandpaper would be the best option.

Interesting approach. I would be hesitant to use this, but I am going to order the Colourlock dye kit to use it on the other car's worn bolsters and the kit comes with the sanding pad.

TBH, my Alcantara was just super flat and greasy unlike the Vette knob. Felt and looked like leather almost.

The vette knob started out completely flat and gross. The video started off after he'd already started using the pad.
