Has anyone here used a quik jack with tiles? I've been thinking about tiles but wondered if moving the jacks will damage the tiles over time?

I have tiles plus quickjack. It does not damage the tiles and it makes moving them around 100x easier.

Can you share the approximate dimensions of your garage and the cost to have it professionally applied?

I ended up going with epoxy. Work should be done in about 2 weeks. I'll post pictures after. Went with a granite blend and with a custom blue accent. Pricing will vary based on what materials they use and how many coats they do. And the condition of your floor. I went with the mid grade option so it's primer, full flake broadcast, and sealant. They said it should last 15-20 years. I'm paying $3200 for 700 square feet (3 car garage with extended storage for 1 stall. I received quotes as low as $2500 but these were random dudes off Facebook and seemed like they'd cut corners.

I did the rustoleum kit from Lowe's 15yrs ago. It held up great for the first 10-12 years and now it is showing its age (year 15) and needs to be redone. The key is prep, I used muriatic acid to etch the concrete before using the cleaner that came in the kit. I wish I'd have tried a little higher end product and plan to do it again soon with a higher grade. I love that I can just mop it and it looks great again. And oil just wipes right up.

I did the rustoleum kit about 16 years ago also in my old house. Held up nicely. It was a new construction home when I put it down. So the floor was in great shape and didn't need a lot of prep. Just power wash and etched. I just moved into a house that's a couple of years old. Think I'll go this route again. I think if your floor is in good shape, those kits are the best bang for the buck.

Polyaspartic is supposed to bond to the concrete better than epoxy, once the surface has been diamond 'sanded' to open the concrete pores.

YMMV.

D.
I second the polyaspartic coating. I've had several garages with epoxy. Now I've got polyaspartic. Both are great, but I like the looks and (so far) durability of the polyaspartic

I'm another fan of epoxy. Get it professionally done and don't try to DIY. You can't get the same chemicals and prep that the pros use. No more concrete dust and garage cleanup is easy with a leaf blower or if you want that deep clean, use soap and a pressure washer.

I was also worried about dinging up the epoxy with sharp edges, but the clear coat seems very resilient and "heals" itself. I thought worst case is I can apply a new layer of clear coat if it gets really bad at a fraction of the original cost (no prep or base layer required), but the floor still looks almost new after 2 years.

I went with professionally applied basic grey polyaspartic coating.

Garage is still a work in progress.

I've got epoxy (and love it) but always drool when I see the garages decked out in vibrant color tiles. Style points to the tiles I'd say. Otherwise, for ease of maintenance and that shine... A well prepped and applied epoxy wins the day.

I replaced the tiles with epoxy, no regrets.

Have it done by professionals.

I have epoxy and am happy with it.

Never done tiles, so I can't really comment on them.

Anyone do epoxy with tiles over it? Or is that just overkill?

Garage List
I did tiles but it was more for a fun garage versus one that you'd want to do much maintenance in. Truth be told, I'm getting kind of tired of it now. The tiles are noisy when you walk on them too lol. And when I bring the motorcycle in it's always sketchy. Will I dump it or won't I. For the record, I haven't yet. But that key word yet... Anywho. Here's mine:

I've had both. Tiles (Swisstrax), and Polyaspartic. I loved the tiles until I had to pull them out to clean them and the concrete underneath after winter. Not fun. Hands down the Polyaspartic is the way to go over tiles and standard epoxy. Not cheap by any stretch, but worth it IMO.

I definitely prefer epoxy to the tiles. Tiles are much easier to install though.

I posted in the regional Canada forum but I’ll post here as well.

I just had my garage floor done in epoxy based coating.
The company was great and did a fantastic job.

Specs: diamond grind to expose concrete pores
Grey waterproofing epoxy base coat
130lb of “domino” flake
Polyaspartic top coat.

The installer mentioned that the epoxy grabs the concrete very well and the polyaspartic is very hard, UV blockers and stain resistant.
