Glad to hear it.
I decided on kumho winters in the end. Getting fitted to oem wheels tomorrow. 255/35/19 and 275/35/19. Now the search begins for some new summer wheels. Question is stick with 19" to use my nearly new mpss or go up to 20".
At least the winters are sorted

So you're going to go with 2 sets of wheels, rather than swap the tyres over in the spring.

Yeah that's the plan. I'm not sure if there's any truth in it but I've heard it can weaken the sidewalls continually refitting tyres. Plus I would always use BMW to fit tyres as I worry about rim damage from elsewhere and they charge £80 a go for a 4 tyre swop. (If BMW damage the rims they will replace them).
So my man maths calculated £80 twice a year, 3 years left on my finance so thats £480 spent on tyre changing alone.

I'm looking at a set of 2forge 19" wheels tomorrow which I can get for £1400. Seems a fair deal as long as the other wheels look ok. I've only seen pictures so holding off on a decision until I see them in person. [IMG][/IMG]

It's between the silver vossen multispokes £1800 or the 2forge wheels either in gunmetal or polished silver. I would go for 20" but don't want to waste my 3 month old 19" mpss

The Vossen wheels look nice and good value, nice bit of man maths as well on the tyre changing and side wall weakness, I like!

Ha ha, yeah I'm heavily leaning towards the vossen although there is one snag. In 19" vossen say they don't fit the front of the m4 (heat shield clips the barrel of any 19" with an internal lip in the barrel. However the shop I saw them in said they've fitted loads to m4's.
It's true that 19" wheels are hard to find unless you go with forged wheels due to this issue. I may take a view on upgrading to 20" if this is the case but that would entail new tyres as well.

On that point does anyone have any recommendations for 20" tyres for summer use. I would want super sticky good wet and dry performance but cheaper than mpss if possible. Also what size tyres do people use with 20" wheels generally? I'm assuming rims would be 9.5 & 10.5 x 20 although 10 and 11 may fit.

Ps. This winter tyre project is snowballing out of hand lol

I'd hold out of the Michelin Pilot 4S in 20". These look to be the new benchmark in performance tyres for our cars.

Another great option is our VWS-1 2 piece step lip wheels.

Currently a few color combos in stock!

VFS-1 is a really great choice also. GL with your decision!

Thanks for the input. I've clarified today that the. Vfs1 in 19" definitely doesn't fit as it catches the heat shield. I'm 90% sold on the 2forge wheels mainly because I can use my existing tyres. Going to 20" will add about £2k with the cost of bigger wheels and a set of tyres.

This is what I'm getting subject to further deliberations.

I prefer the Vossens but as you say they don't fit on 19" which does seem really weird!

Yeah it's a shame. It's that lip in the internal barrel of the wheel. Lots of wheels have that lip and all of them don't fit. Really narrows down the options

What about the HRE flow forms?

I'd love a set of those Volk TE37 Ultras but they are expensive.

These 2 forge wheels are flow form as well so they are good quality. Not like forged wheels of course but better than cast wheels

Wife hates them and my best says they look shit.
Not that I'm easily led by others but feel free to post here is you agree with them. I don't want to stubbornly proceed and ruin my car lol

Getting rapidly fed up trying to find 19" wheels aghhhhh

They are about £1100-1200

I paid something that for a set of PA4 in 20" for my old M5.
