Stripped wheel lock HELP

So recently I had some BBS FI-Rs installed and the place that put them on over tightened the locking bolt. They also didn't have them balanced correctly so I took them somewhere to get rebalanced and this is what happened. Anyone know how to fix it? They can't get the normal safety collar removal tool in because of the limited room by the lugs (they tried and scratched the rim). Anyone know how to fix this?!

Not going to lie, this looks bad. Due to the tight clearance conventional removal sockets will probably not work. I think it will have to be drilled and professionally extracted.

That's so fucking lame. They probably impact wrenched that locking lug nut on. Any time I get my car serviced, the first thing I do when I get home is loosen the lug nuts and retorque to spec w/ a torque wrench. I too have been stuck unable to change a tire b/c some ass fuck at the dealer or tire shop overtorqued the lug nuts on.

You can use an impact tool, but you have to stop before it starts torquing down the lug nut. Or, if you're brave, just lightly torque it down with it too - one or two clicks - which should still be below the recommended 140 Nm, depending on the equipment used. Interestingly enough, recommended torque spec for F30 is only 120 Nm if I recall.

BMW wheel locks are one of the better designed amongst other OEMs. With other brands, there's a bigger risk of stripping either the lug nut or the wheel lock itself so it's better not to even use a torque wrench...

We had cars coming in from some repair shop that constantly had over-torqued lugs. Like, a breaker bar and hammers had to be used kind of over-torqued.

Find a wheel thief. They'll be able to help you get that out.
