WiFi antenna Retrofit Apple Car Play

Just wondering what everyone used to retrofit Apple Car Play?

OEM or aftermarket?

Please post a link if anyone has a good aftermarket option

OEM part number is 61119278133.

Seems to be quite a few aftermarket options on Amazon etc. Not sure about the quality.

The generic one has worked perfectly for me for over a year with zero issues. Can't comment beyond that but so far don't see a reason why you would need anything else.

I wouldn't be worried about the antenna technology/quality over such a short detection range.

Most vendors that will retrofit and code Apple CarPlay don't even sell you the OEM antenna, iirc. It's some generic 2.4 GHz that they probably get a good markup on.

So true, I have dealt with that for years when it comes to my E46 M3.

I got my OEM antenna from my dealer for $18. The generic one is likely sufficient, but for another $9 I decided the OEM was the right fit for me.

Need to plug it in to the head unit and have iD4 coded to iD6 to get Carplay. No other hardware changes are needed to make it work

I had my car upgraded earlier today by Kubax86, https://bimmer-remote.com/

Everything works perfect and I can highly recommend this guy. No issues at all.

I used an aftermarket antenna from Amazon and the wifi connection works great.

I just got my car coded from iD4 to iD6 with CarPlay, plugged the WiFi antenna in, still couldn't establish CarPlay, any ideas? Guys are Bimmer Remote Coding said this antenna is probably bad so I ordered another one, same brand (Bingfu), hopefully that solve the issue. Have anyone else encountered this issue?
