What causes emission test failure is swapping out the OEM catted downpipes for hi-flow cats or catless. Some people do the swap but try and use "defoulers" to avoid the O2 sensor error (still likely, our downstream sensors are sensitive). A sure fix is an O2 Sensor "simulator". The OEM Cats on the F80/82 already flow pretty good. If inspection is an issue keep them. All you really need is the midpipe or mid+rear section.

you'll get a deeper tone with no rasp with a single midpipe. the exhaust will be slightly louder but not by much
