Is anyone running ONLY a midpipe with a comp stock exphaust w/no tune?

Considering AA or Fabspeed, looking for suggestions, is anyone running ONLY midpipe with no tune or no downpipes?

Yes it's pretty subtle, but nice tone increase overall.

would this void a warranty? or inhibit the ability to pass smog?

A midpipe or a full exhaust will not void your warranty. You need to keep a valved exhaust or your computer will get error codes if valve cables are left unplugged. That's still not a broken warranty situation.

What causes emission test failure is swapping out the OEM catted downpipes for hi-flow cats or catless. Some people do the swap but try and use "defoulers" to avoid the O2 sensor error (still likely, our downstream sensors are sensitive). A sure fix is an O2 Sensor "simulator".

The OEM Cats on the F80/82 already flow pretty good. If inspection is an issue keep them. All you really need is the midpipe or mid+rear section.

We ran the AA mid on the shop's M4 for a while with everything else stock.

you'll get a deeper tone with no rasp with a single midpipe. the exhaust will be slightly louder but not by much
