But that is not due with the registration.
It’s all rolled into registration in CA.

Also get the pleasure of paying sales tax of ~10% when the car is first purchased. I believe in other states you can deduct the value of the car you trade-in/sell when you buy a new car to reduce the sales tax, but not in CA. Full value every time.

6.5% sales tax in AR and we do get to deduct trade in or sale of automobile if within 30 days of purchase of new car. Also, no sales tax on cars under $3500.

I was late by one day registering my 435xi in August and had a $200 penalty on tax payment/registration. It seems there are 31 days in July this year.

Hey fellas. 2020 F82 CP owner in CO just stopping by the CA forum. My reg was over 1800 just a few weeks back. My previous car, a 2018 440i, had some credit that rolled over and so I paid roughly 1300.

Sounds like you guys are better off out there. Grats!

The biggest impact is the purchase price. If you bought your car for $50k+, it'll be ~$500-$600. In my experience it's around 1% of the purchase price (incl. tax and license), give or take $50 - $100. If you paid $30K, it'll probably be in the $300 range, etc.

Pick-up trucks get screwed even worse in CA, as the commies automatically assume it's a commercial vehicle and assign commercial registration. That just about doubles the annual reg. fee.

But everyone keeps voting democrat so this will only get worse.
