EU6 or EU5 for stock turbos on 93
My f80 is at 112K miles and I’m planning to replace the injectors and coils as preventative maintenance. Not planning on upgrading turbos until the stock ones fail. Considering EU5 injectors since I’m already doing the job. I already have BM3 stage 2 and the flex fuel kit but I run 93 about 99% of the time because I’m scared of it making my injectors stick. So my question is should I stick with EU6 injectors from FCP or go with EU5?
Also, is there any reason for me to switch to B58 coils now that BM3 has a that capability in their tunes? Please share from experience only. Thanks in advance. |

Stock EU6 injectors have plenty of flow capacity for stock turbos, especially on 93.
I would stick with them because of the specific spray pattern for the S55 unless you need more flow. If that was the case then I'd go with Nostrum Stage 2 because they are EU6 (Euro 6 emissions) spray pattern. I am putting in B58 coils this weekend so will let you know if it's worth it. |

Well, it starts easier on E60 but sadly the weather is not good enough to put any power down. All stock BM3 settings. Nexsys kit was easy to install. Only issue was the hard plastic channel that houses the stock coil wiring had to go for clearance on #6. The "heads" on these coils are massive. Anyway I wrapped the loose wires with 5/8" split loom to protect them from heat. More to come in a separate thread.

Good afternoon,
Ok, since I’m planning to upgrade turbos within the next couple years and fcp has the replacement program I went ahead and ordered the EU5 part # 13647599876. Those are the Bosch injectors that everyone seems to be buying from FCP. The shop I use who has a couple 1,000 hp f80s is telling me that they seem to have no issues with the genuine BMW injectors but those cost more than 3x the Bosch. So I’m planning on trying the Bosch and if I have issue, returning to FCP. Also ordered the b58 coils from eldor and the nexsys adapter kit. Hopefully fitment isn’t too difficult. Scheduled to have everything installed and coded on April 8th so if anyone thinks there’s a difference between the Bosch and expensive AF bmw 13647599876 injectors, please let me know. I’m praying that the shops experience is based on the power level/e85/etc. and is anecdotal to my situation running 93 at 500 wheel give or take. Thanks for the feedback. |

Tomorrow is the big day,
Installing everything and coding via ista+ and checking the BM3 boxes for EU5/B58 coils on the OTS stage 2 flex fuel tune. Notes: - Fuel injectors from FCP part number the same as genuine BMW but made in Turkey stamp. - B58 coils from FCP that stated Eldor did not say Eldor on the box but instead a different brand name. - Nexsys kit looks good and appears to have everything needed connectors and resized boots. - Changing spark plugs and charge pipe o rings while we’re in there. Ultimately, I’m feeling a little like a guinea pig and have been having paranoid thoughts about not buying the 300 dollar each genuine injectors but they just aren’t in my budget anyhow. Hopefully I’m surprised to find out they are exactly the same as the 90 dollar Bosch injectors I purchased. I’ll probably wait until I’ve been using everything for some months before posting my feedback to avoid a premature assessment. |

Are you saying you are running ea5 on OTS and not a custom tune? Every where I read said you need a custom tune to dial it in.

I have ps2 bolt on. Check the eu5 on bootmod OTS map. Was life changing. My car never ran better than it is now. I’m more concerned about reliability than going really fast. Switch to stock KN filter. No misfire. Start up with no sputtering. Just clean 93 burning really well with the ps2.

A question I have when I see people talking about eu5 or eu6 is emissions. Bm3 let's you change the injector, but this doesn't let you pass obd2 emissions.
So are people who use eu5 Injectors living in no emissions states/counties? |
