Bad Experience @ McKenna BMW Service - Need Another Recommendation for SoCal

Anyone have a good recommendation for BMW service centers in SoCal?

Yeah...he's no longer there. He's a bit farther. I may just go that route next time-it's just an additional hour away.

How much further are you brother? Says you're in LA, South Bay BMW(Torrance) is near the 91/110/405 freeways.

I'm actually in Chino Hills so I think just at the beginning of the IE. Still learning this area.

AW M4 stays relatively out in that area as well. His office is also deep in the outskirts of Orange County, you can make the drive if I can provide you peace of mind. I drive far enough to get my Shelby serviced.

It’s definitely worth the drive. Myself and many other BMW enthusiasts alike can attest to this. Simply put, Charlie is the man and he will take care of you.

Technically, BMW-wise, Charlie remains at BMW McKenna as both Norwalk and South Bay locations are owned by McKenna.

My most recent service was at South Bay and one of Charlie's advisors did a great job handling my coolant expansion tank leak (replacement). I'll keep going back to South Bay so long as Charlie's there.

Mckenna BMW M Mechanic Johnny Navarro has left the company for UPS. He was a knowledgeable, more than competent and trusted M Mechanic there. Over the years, he has replaced my motor, differential, batteries, wheel bearings etc, etc with no issues. He was fantastic in trouble shooting problems and fixing it the first time. "Because M guy." It's very important who's doing the wrenching or the actual work.

I drive from the West LA to service at southbay BMW. It's well worth it and there's probably 4 locations closer to me

I also went to South Bay BMW a few weeks back for service on my f80. I come out of the San Fernando valley and it is worth the trip and terrible traffic for top notch service!!

My SA was fine, no complaints on them but the issue was my parking sensor in the front is now damaged or tripped. It never stops going off anymore. I thought it was because they may have accidentally bent the license plate relocation bracket but it's not that. So every time I go in reverse I basically need to shut it off...which is annoying. Second-my entire engine bay was splattered in oil...I'm talking a mess, oil everywhere. I lifted the engine cover and there was so much oil it looks like they intentionally just dumped a quart or two all over the engine bay. Never seen a mess like this. The engine cover wasn't even snapped into place, either....which caused the rear part of it to scrape against the hood.

This is lazy, crap work.

If it didn't take them 45 minutes to bring my car around (which ended up just sitting in the back anyway) I'd have complained. I just figured at that point-what are they going to do? Clean it? re-do anything? No. I just took off and cleaned it later that night and it looks fine now.

The parking sensor is still broken. It does indicate the direction of the parking lot bracket and even without it there it goes off so I am just not sure what's wrong.

Would you like for me to look into this? Did you want to PM me your number so that I can see what had happened?

Honestly not really-I've been through this rodeo before up in Northern California. Not much but an apology and maybe detailing are going to be waiting for me. I'll take my M4 to South Bay BMW for the next scheduled service. I appreciate it!

I can vouch for Charlie. I've worked with him when he was at Norwalk and now at South Bay BMW. He knows these cars and his teams service/follow up is top notch. There is a reason why most of us are willing to make the drive out to see Charlie.

That's where I'll be bringing my M4 from now on.
