Is your name on the waiting list?

Joined today #2 at my dealer.

They showed me their launch car build date on the screen - week 19, so not expecting to see that car before late June or July earliest.

I plan on making a deposit tomorrow after a few emails back and forth. If I can't get the dealer to commit to MSRP in writing, I'm walking and will try to find one who will.

My dealer wanted $0. We didn't discuss price - I didn't see any point with 7 or 8 months to go........

You're #2 at your dealership and your build date is week 19? So who the hell is getting weeks 1-18??

I think he meant dealer launch car will be built around May. So he does not expect to see the dealer demo car to arrive till June or July.

No M3's being built. Build week is the week of the year, not the sequential start of production.

Congrats on your spot. The wait will go by faster than you think.

it doesn't bother me. I can't believe the car will disappoint and I'm not looking at anything else after exhausting all other options. I regret I didn't buy the last gen M3 when I could have.

I'm #1 on my local dealers list. Their car is being built in May, if they would have gone with the CF roof rather than the sunroof, I would have just agreed to buy their launch car. Can't wait till The Detroit Auto show to see it in person

That's the one.....same guy, and I got much the same reaction. But then I have never ever bought a car from someone who knew more about it than I did. I don't care, the sales person is just that - he only cares about one thing. I know it, he knows it.

A diesel M? Ohhh....that sounds like a LOT of fun!

And don't confuse being on the waiting list with buying it. I might hate it. In which case I will be across the street to Porsche and get a 997 instead. Given the wait until late summer theres a 50/50 chance that's what I will do anyway.

At least I have the option to get an M4 in the summer rather than do nothing and then likely have to wait until end of the year or maybe even next year depending on availability.

I'm #1 for an M3 in Harrisburg. If I don't like it, I'll get my money back and put it down on an S6 for about the same money. (Please, hold the "different class" criticisms. I tire of explaining my logic to folks who don't care anyway.)
