Sorry, is this not the place to share problems and get some help? Not sure if you're trying to be funny or be a douce?
If you click the link to the F30 board you'll see there are several people having this issue. Here is what is sounds like in the car: http://onlinetonegenerator.com/?freq=3000

Okay thanks for clarifying. I appreciate that.
I haven't been able to even go for a drive and test it, but will in the next day or so. Scuttlebutt from the F30 board is that irrespective of whether the AC is on or not, it's still somehow the A/C. Turning it on and off fixes it, until next time.

i still have no clue how to get rid of this thuckin noise / beep ... unless i turn on the AC
the thing is i cannot duplicate the scene to the SA... i can just made recording to them but they have no idea how to manipulate the noise... i told them it just kicked-in suddenly after 20 to 25 mins of driving.. its more like a hit or miss and unable to catch the momentum =( and whenever u hear this beep, u stop aside and open up your hood.... i can hear it scream LOUD from the hood, and its noise is coming from the right side near the engine. any luck AYTifosi Last edited by woosolow; 07-13-2016 at 12:12 AM.. |

no, hadn't thought of that. So far I can't seem to replicate it at will by using or not using the A/C. Ah well...

Its nothing that will break and kill you. I say turn up radio and cruise. Or open window. Its so low that Im sure a cracked window will have wind overtake that whistle.

Cool! Glad i wasn't speeding.
The high pitched whine came back for a visit. Hit the A/C for a second and it went away. Strange. |

Does it get louder during acceleration? If so, it's probably coming from the artificial engine sound. I've replaced a few amps back in the day for similar issues.

Having the exact same thing happen on my new 2020 M4.
Didn't notice it at all for the first 1500 Km or so, but it's getting a lot more noticeable, and sound exactly like the OP's video. I do think it has something to do with the A/C as I only notice it after I toggle it during driving. But once the high pitch whine starts, turning the A/C on and off doesn't really stop it. Only once the car cools down, or is left sitting for a while, and restarted, does the noise go away. I also tried seeing if it had anything to do with running in Sport + mode with the more aggressive cooling but have not been able to find a pattern. Has anyone with a similar issue actually had the problem diagnosed and resolved? I'm sure I'll just get used to it after a while, but if there is a simple fix, it would be great to hear. Thanks! |

I can hear a whine in mine too sometimes, but then I just tell my kids to get out and walk and the whining stops.
