Keen to hear what you think of the new circuit. I must get up there one day - maybe organise a family holiday to Adelaide and "oh look they have a circuit here, and seeing as we all squeezed into the M4 for this trip, it would be a shame not to..."
Alignment, brake pads, fluid, (I have braided lines but not essential), extinguisher, ankle to wrist non-flammable outfit, helmet, air compressor and gauge, windex and cloth, tape, reusable cloth bag to hold Dorian out passenger door... that's most of it. Have you tracked before? If not, my advice is to be smooth and clean. Speed comes. Worth getting a book too, I have this one. https://www.booktopia.com.au/ultimat...oaAt-sEALw_wcB Good luck and let us know how you go.

PI for the Advance 1 - but that's not lapping, Sandown in a lightly race prepped V8 VS. Would you tape up front edges? Mate taking his GTR is going to mask up everything.

You've seen my video from couple weeks ago in the track times section. I was allocated 5x20 min sessions, I only did the first 3, (had bad day with work on the phone and long drive home so I left early)
I probably wasn't super fast but had a ball and improved 8 seconds in just 3 sessions, guarantee next session will be quicker again. Longer sessions would have been nice or even a one lap warning just to ensure you get proper cool down lap and don't have to keep an eye on the clock yourself. I've done many track days before but first one in my m3. These cars are balanced so much different/ better than a hi powered falcon/ Commodore so i also had to learn to drive the car also. Falcon just gives under steer when pushed, these cars rotate you and spit you out. I had few loose moments on track so sub consciously having that in the back of my mind was another limiting factor. Takes time to learn the track, it's fast and flowing. Reminds me of Philip island I only had ds2500 pads, with road tires, I don't think brakes were an issue at all. There is a YouTube video of an m4 that went there 2 weeks before me, don't know what his specs where but he good 10 sec quicker than me. It's interesting watching his video vs mine to see where the extra time can be made up. The car runs fine on the track, only limiting factor on mine was the tires, rest of the car didn't break a sweat. I went there with the sole intention of having fun, lap times and videos where just for my own records. I drove nearly 400ks to get there, didn't bring any tools and had to drive that car home, i sent cold tire temps to 32 and didn't adjust or care to much about them through the day. it was the only one on track with a baby seat in it! I changed the pads only because I figured it was cheaper than killing a set of rotors or having them machined and ds2500 are pretty cheap.. |

agxr6 - that was me Just posted a video of my lap at Talem Bend in my car in the Aussie laptimes thread. Car is stock other than pads, fluid and tires.
It's a very cool track - make sure you stay in the hotel upstairs, food is great in the hotel, so you really don't need to leave the joint, there's also a petrol station on the complex. Re: track day insurance - I don't think it's really a done thing here in .AU - especially not for street cars. Cheers, matt |

So disgruntled with the lack of traction on this circuit. PS4S on front, Cup2 rears, Pagid RSL1. Could stay in front of C63s, poor bloke in GT3rs had elec issues. Will do GC camber plates, brake vents before next trip. Want slicks....maybe another 100hp. Motel corridor is soooooo long
