Can I buy just the harness for the M Performance Steering Wheel?

Looking to buy a M Performance electronic steering wheel....

1 issue: Its missing a cable (wire and harness)

Called BMW and they only seem to sell them WITH the entire wheel as a package.

Anybody know of where I could get one or how hard it would be to have a harness fabricated?

From what IND told me, parts numbers are:
61122334010
61122354871

You can’t buy the cables separately. You also can’t make it because you need that control unit too. You shouldn’t buy that wheel.

Hit up Alex@autocouture for the wheel!

It's got 2 of the 3 cables, just missing the one long one that goes to the passenger footwell as far as far as I've been told...

There's nothing I can do?

That’s the most important cable. You’re also missing the control module I believe.

There’s nothing you can do. It’s not going to work

I did the same thing and bought the wheel without wiring. Ended up being a big loss.

Best of luck to you!

This is the major issue with these wheels coming up for sale. I have just had mine removed from my car and was explicit to the dealership to ensure they removed all the harnesses and module. Left the car with them for a whole day and when I picked it up, they had only removed the wheel. I asked them where the rest of the instal was and they tried to fob me off by saying there wasn't any. I have the official BMW installation documentation so know for a fact there was. I suggested to the dealer that if he was so sure there wasn't any further wiring, he should write me a BMW headed letter stating the fact so when I come to sell the wheel on, the buyer would know. He stuttered at that, dug a bit deeper in his research and booked my car back in to remove the full wiring harness.

I believe this is the problem with these wheels being sold second hand. The dealers dont even know what to remove so just take the wheel off. This means the wheel is just a very expensive 'normal' wheel without all the functionality that the display wheel should have.

Especially an issue when people are trying to sell harnesses for $700...

Does anyone know if the non-electronic alcantara one have a separate harness or is just a normal direct swap? I'm going to be wanting one of those in the future, as my wedding ring has scratched up my leather wheel. The leather they use is not very forgiving...

If it's not electronic at all, then it's just a direct swap. No harness or other attachments needed.

If you got it used, you got fucked over. If you got it new you should get the harness with it.
