lowering just the front and keeping stock rear springs

Hi I have a 2017 M3 ZCP, I wanted to know if its fine just to lower the front using lowering springs (in this case eibach v2) just on the front to reduce the wheel gap and leave the rear stock oem zcp springs on the vehicle as the rear height is fine. Is this recommended or will it really affect the handling if I don,t change front and back, any help would be really appreciated.

Mine is lowered on AfE springs front only, same as your '17 ZCP and I got no issues. Car feels better planted than before. As you said the rear is perfectly fine and got rid of that huge gap upfront

Interesting idea ... let me know if you lower just the fronts. I might end up doing this also

Your CS looks great man!

Do you have a part number for those springs? Where did you purchase them?

Thank you!

It's a Competition package I just have the CS/GTS hood added as well as the lip and trunk spoiler so it kind of looks like a CS
I don't have a part number for the springs but if you google AfE springs for F80 you'll find them
They're orange color, it came as a package with AfE front and rear sway bars and purchased and installed by MaximumPsi
Rear AfE springs are sitting in the garage as decoration

I also did just the front. Eibach V1. Spring rate on them is nearly identical to oem, but if you have zcp they are slightly softer.

What would be the best springs to get that would match the rear as far as rate on a zcp?

I would suggest using Eibach V1 if fronts only... V2 lowers the front too much relative to the OEM ZCP rear, IMO.

I can't speak specifically for zcp, but in general, from my research the Eibach v1's are the best option to get the front fender gap matching the rear OEM fender gap. That's the route I decided to go and my v1's arrived on Friday. Now I just have to find some time this week to install them.

I only plan on doing the fronts, as well. It seems many have done this with no real issues. I'll report back with results whenever I get them installed and they get some time to settle in.

Some of the F3x springs from Eibach have virtually the same spring rate as the ZCP front (34N/mm, within ~1N/mm on the rate). PN 11-20-030-03 VA should drop the front .5-.6" over the stock ZCP front springs.

The F8x V1 springs should drop the front .65-.85" vs stock.

Now we have two different answer. One saying V1 is the least drop, the other saying it is the most.Who is right?

Euro V1 has less drop. Here's my 2017 ZCP with V1's in the front only.

I don't have a part number for the springs but if you google AfE springs for F80 you'll find them
They're orange color, it came as a package with AfE front and rear sway bars and purchased and installed by MaximumPsi
Rear AfE springs are sitting in the garage as decoration

I have the AFE front and rear sway bar as well. I had them powder coated satin black for an OEM appearance. How do you like the sway bars?

They're solid
No need to spend more on other brands as these do the job well
