BMW Performance Carbon door pulls. Are they worth it?

Hey, I've got the full leather option, but I was thinking the carbon door pulls/handles might look nice. Anyone have them and would like to share their opinion?

I do have them, and love them. Full black leather interior, and I think the gloss and visual texture nicely offsets the texture and sheen of the leather when looking at the doors, much in the same way that the carbon fiber trim on the dash does. It isn't too much by any means for me, and they feel very nice to the touch.

I also have the DCT shifter and shifter trim CF, but not the handbrake, fyi.

Not for me. Love the contrast stitching on the leather door pulls!

Cool. I have Amaro interior, but the pulls are black leather. I'll give it some more thought.

If you have the carbon fiber bits all throughout the interior, I think it's a great idea. Will look great.

However, when cruising around, my knee rests right at the bottom of the door pull....so I often have to clean the leather right there on my door pull. With shorts on, my knee resting against a hot CF door pull could be annoying (or even painful). In the winter time, I'd be wearing pants, so less of an issue of a cold CF door pull.

Do you have to take the handles off to install them?

Yes, they replace the leather handles. Took me all of five minutes to replace the four, once you figure out the process it goes quickly. I have the stock handles stored away in tissue paper should I ever need to swap them back out for some reason.

Digging the door handles. Very classy and elegant while being sporty. I was originally going to go with a dry carbon version, then thought maybe alcantara on the pull handles would add a nice tactile feel on an area of the vehicle that is used often. However, after seeing this I might have to rethink my ideas.

Not to me, its a pretty personal thing. I have full leather and see this as a lateral move that I have to shell out some money for. Same with the ebrake in CF. I'm tempted by the alcantara/ cf shifter but I'm afraid I'd spill coffee on it one day.

Just do what I did... mount the CF trim to the factory trim piece and put the alcantara piece in the box for future use!

Didn't know it could be separated. Might have to take a second look now.

Does anyone know if the M carbon fiber dash/door trim pieces fit on the f30? The M Performance cf stuff for f30s isn't smooth or glossy.

I hate the Red stitching on the SO door pulls. So for me - yeah worth it.

That's odd, my door pulls have black leather and stitching.

Here are mine. I probably wouldn't be considering switching to the carbon pulls if it had contrast stitching.

Are the carbon pulls hot to the touch? I've got a vert and it can getting pretty toasty in the sun.

+1 I also did the same mod as I am not a huge alcantara fan and the looks match better with the rest of the console.

I also have the full black and will be installing the handles later this week. I can not find any diy, do you have any tips since you have installed yours? Pry tool and painters tape to protect I guess, any tip from which side to start? Are they hard to pull out? Thanks
