Ehhhhhh.... can't be sure about that. Then again... maybe I was thinking about the M Performance system not having the same size tubes.

I know those are different than the standard exhaust.

Pretty sure the ZCP and non-ZCP OEM tips only differ in color. The pipe dimensions are identical AFAIK.

It's the M Performance exhaust that has different diameter pipes.

(Also note, the seller of these tips will make them for whatever size you ask for! They prefer you to measure your exhaust yourself so that they don't get complaints about the wrong diameter etc.)

what is the size of the tips... are they 90mm or 102mm?

my understanding is the side that clamps down on the exhaust is 70mm... correct?

Is there anyway not to have them glossy?

That's just what I was about to post about. You mean the inner metal part or the CF? For me, it's the inner metal part as you can see it's a nice brushed matte finish on the real MP tips. I plan to use some sort of rotary metal brush to give a similar effect. We'll see how it goes. Right now I don't like the glossy metal tip as it doesn't match the perforated inner portion.

Yep the inner metal part to make it as close to the oem as possible. Let me know how that goes. I'd definitely consider them if the metal is brushed rather than glossy.

Nice! I agree that looks a lot better. How difficult was it to do this without damaging the CF?

Wonder how well the surface will hold up? (doesn't look like there's any sort of plating on the tips)

Easy. The brush was just the right size. Just gotta apply pressure evenly. And make sure the bristles are outside the tip, which is also easy cause the brush fits perfect. I'll send a pic of the exact model in a bit. Had a long day at work.

Nice. Definitely looks better now. Is it hard to keep the same level of pressure evenly?

Nope, just apply pressure circumferentially around the inside of the exhaust tip without going in and out of the tip much. Doing it slowly helps.

Thanks! Just finished up the other side. May try another finer brush if I can find one to create a more finished look.

Garage List
2022 G20 330i  [9.00]

So to be clear these will clamp on to the stock exhaust pipes, no problems, cutting, modifications, etc? Right?

I've been using a Scotch Brite pad to turn chrome into a brushed look for years, even did my toilet flusher lol. It's probably a lot safer and more controlled than that wire cup brush.

Doesn't look like it's easily removable and I'm not really willing to take the chance to be honest...

The carbon is riveted on, but there's a small gap between the CF and the stainless steel. So I guess it's possible that with some masking tape you could get at the M logo area using a scotchbrite pad.

Would probably also work to slide a piece of fine-grit sandpaper between the carbon and the outside of the stainless steel section?
