Here is my build. All inspired from this forum and delighted I actually didn't spend my money on a expensive Schumacher or similar

1600W build, rated to 130AMP, voltage adjustable 12v-15.2V, fan control Low-High speed and a Voltage/Ampere meter with built in Alarm for OVP and OCP.

Easily got on ebay, with a few spare parts hanging around was quite an easy build.

So far tested on a few BMW's and Range Rovers pulling over 80AMP at 13.8V with ease!

Also, after having a think about it, it should be correct in that no modifications should be required to the 600 units. I'll get pics soon, but I've taken the handles from each unit, rotated 90 degrees and connected them together. I've also had some spare aluminum around that happened to have holes in exactly the right spot to join at the rear and middle for support and extra grounding. This is exactly how it would essentially be in the chassis; common chassis ground.

I've also soldered pins 4, 6, 8, and 10 as other forums have shown to remove any additional wiring.

I'm just waiting for my new pots for pins 7 and 9. I'll set each individually and then rig it all up together.

I'm also waiting on new crimp tabs for the output terminals.
great, please put some pics up. thanks

Looks really nice! Any chance you got a parts list or pics of the build?

Greetings - first post in here, I'm going to attempt to build one of these with 2 PSUs.

I have a question regarding the potentiometers...

How do you know both PSUs are outputting the same?

I'm considering using a dual pot, but taking into account variations in the supplies, I may need to add a trimmer to one of the outputs to make sure they're balanced. Or am I over thinkig this?

Ok, so having thought some more about this, it looks like I was overthinking it

I pot per power supply and set independently looks like the way forward.

I have a question for @Railgun

Those 10-12awg female spade terminals - can you confirm that they fit over a pair of terminals?

And is there enough space for a fully insulated spade (as these are what I currently have)?

PSU DPS600PB, Voltage drops to zero, after load disconnected

Build, PSU DPS600PB.
Potentiometer connected to pins 3 and 9 and PSU set to 13.50V.

Just for testing purpose connected 55w halogen bulb, everything fine. Disconnected bulb, voltage drops to zero, fan still running.
Restarted PSU voltage 13.50V and bulb lights. disconnected bulb, voltage again drops to zero.

Turned PSU off, disconnected Potentiometer, PSU has 14.5 volts, connected same 55W halogen bulb, everything fine.
Disconnected bulb, PSU still has 14.5 volts.

Set PSU voltage 13.20V connected 55w halogen bulb, everything fine. Disconnected bulb, voltage still 13.20V

Is it faulty Potentiometer or faulty PSU?

Thanks

Solved: Faulty PSU, new unit works fine
