unless you are buying from known CF companies; they are all middle men to china. Just go on ebay and buy direct. Paypal has excellent customer service

Because cost. RW Carbon is selling these pieces for a fraction of the item they're knocking off. To some the cost savings outstrips the potential for a headache associated with a part that is of poor quality and/or fitment.
Then sadly the Ricers of 10 years ago have not only moved to the 1/2/3/4 series, but have now moved to the M Platform.

Correct. The ricers of 10 years ago are likely making more money than they were before. Also, a used F8x can be had for quite cheap.

I’d rather support business like Dinmann vs. copy cats like RW Carbon.

I realize that people are on a budget, rightfully so I guess, but this is a high end M car. I personally hate to see them defiled with knockoff overseas parts. I understand you can get an F80 for 35k now, but if it were me, I'd do nothing at all before I put cheap parts on a car like this if I was on a tight budget.

Terrible.
Horrible.
No good.
Very bad company.

That's RW for ya. These threads come up surprisingly often and I always share the same anecdote. I bought one thing from them...rear CF diffuser. Terrible fitment. Unlike OEM, it doesn't follow the shape of the OEM bumper edges around it. I have seen several pics of others' installs, and always notice the same. I guess most people don't.

After installation but before driving, I wrote to them about a return because of this issue and they responded, "Once installed, the item cannot be returned". I asked them how somehow should guess about fitment without fitting the damn thing, and they didn't respond.

Now I spend my days thinking of ways to poop in their cereal. Not all days. But at least 3-5 days per year.

Technically if you buy oem carbon fiber or knock off carbon fiber aren't they still both "race inspired cosmetic enhancement " lol

Nah. I paid them over PayPal but I don't think a CC claim would've worked in my favor anyway since that's RW's policy.

I junked it. My other interior/exterior upgrades were OEM M-Perf parts up to that point, and all have been since then as well. It is a lesson I should've learned years ago but I guess I am a slow learner.

The only reason I want a cheap front splitter is because of the terrible road quality where I live. Id rather have a disposable front splitter than an expensive one on my daily I don't think that makes me a ricer haha

This is making me worry a bit. I bought a CS style lip in September and got into an accident before I had the chance to install it. I got the car back in December and am going to wait for the spring to install it. At this point I feel like I'll have no recourse if it doesn't fit. I haven't even taken it out of the box yet...

Don’t know if this helps to ease your mind, but in my limited experience (2 spoiler fittings), it did fit fine with a little “convincing”. My main issue was blemishes but they were great about it and issued me a refund. I went OEM for perfect fit and aesthetics since it’s a low wear but high visibility part. For a lip, it’s going to get busted up no matter what so I wouldn’t worry a ton and im sure you will get more than acceptable fitment from it. It’s been a while but it doesn’t hurt to reach out and explain your situation if the fitment is way off
