Got my buttons on and did it the lazy route. Did not remove the steering wheel, took me literally 5 minutes to pop them out without breaking them. I used my plastic trim removal tools. Excuse the sideways photo.

Not much too it. Hell even if the old one breaks you have brand new buttons.

I didn't really care allot about the old OEM M1 M2 buttons since these will never go back there but even so they didn't got scratched. But pay attention to the trim edge that will remain there, that's all you need to protect really. |

Too late for me to do it, dont want to remove them again. But get some trim removal tools. And stick one above until you hear an audible click then stick the other one below while still maintaining the first trim tool you inserted above the button and Pop it out.

If you did remove the airbag, I would recommend making sure you unhook the battery and then remove it again and double check you have the wire hookup installed firmly into it, make sure the harness setup is also properly squirreled around the inside so the wheel trim isn't pushing on it (one time when I reinstalled it, the trim felt like it wasn't seated right, and it was because the wiring was stuck underneath it and not threaded around like it's supposed to be). Finally, make sure both sides of the clips are firmly seated when you push it back. Rehook the battery. I imagine it's the cable connector in back is loose. I've never had an airbag warning light after installation and I've taken it on and off like 4 times. |

I'm going to IND in the AM. I need the matte set. Glossy is too glossy.
Has the illumination issue been addressed?

Let us know what they say or if you buy and it's still an issue. Shaving/sanding down the inside does fix it. If you can see inside from the bottom and it's a solid single thick piece instead of the layered plastic of OEM, it's probably still an issue unless they ordered thinner plastic. |

can you show me the plastic trim tool you used for removal? I am curious about the width and thickness of the tool.

Anyone make this swap and still have their stock M1 button? ... bonus points if you live in Tampa FL, but otherwise I'd like to fk with a stock button, if you're willing to send it to me (I'll even pay the $0.90 shipping!).
