Hello All,

Its pretty simple just need some patience with the button tabs.

Here are the tools I used

16 mm socket
Torx T20 socket
Impact gun
Electronics phillips screwdriver
Electronics flat head or tiny pick

I'm assuming you know how to remove the airbag
If you dont watch this
*UPDATE*

Now remove the 16 mm bolt with a impact or ratchet.
Then the two connectors.
Pay attention to the position of this alignment indicator for re installation

Once you remove the trim it will give you access to this T20 torx bolt. This one removes the left paddle.

After removing the paddle you will have access to this T20 torx bolt. This is the bolt that holds on the button pod.

Here are the Red buttons vs the factory ones

To remove the buttons you need to pry the tabs outward over the notch and then the button will come out

Putting the new ones in is as easy lining it up and pushing it in until you hear the click.

When putting mine in I noticed it was a bit tight so I took a nail file and filed off a bit of the red paint near the tabs then it was perfect.

While your steering wheel is off take some time and clean it up.
I plan to use Colourlock alcantara cleaner and a Marvis toothbrush.

They are a bit pricey but hey all part of the ///M Tax and i guess enough demand for them to make them.

Just FYI, removing the steering wheel is not mandatory.

How? All the DIY show the steering wheel being removed.

Removing the steering wheel gives you more space to work on but you don't have to remove it to access all the screws, considering the center bolt that holds the steering wheel on is a bit tough to torque since you will turn the wheels rightward.

Here is a picture taken when I installed the mp steering wheel. Note my steering wheel was still on the car and the controller was removed.

Thank you for this thread and your posts. This made the install so simple. I did the whole thing without taking out the steering wheel.

Any details on how to do this without removing the steering wheel/airbag?

Just wanted to say a huge thank you to the OP for this guide!

Hardest part was removing the airbag, but a couple of YouTube videos helped with that.

Thanks to this thread I just changed my buttons, but to the blue ones from IND.
