Went in for service and they damaged my lip
Went to the dealership for some simple service items yesterday and returned to find this (completely cracked):
Luckily, the dealership has agreed to order a brand new lip without argument and took full responsibility. None of the techs admitted to the damage (shocker), but i'm wondering what the heck happened. Thoughts? Maybe tried to drive it onto a lift and didn't realize how low it was? |

Any chance they end up giving you an OEM CS lip?
I had a previous car that i was planning to sell, so i took it to CarMax. They did the exact same thing to my CF lip, but worse - the lip was split in two and one piece came off the car. You break it, you buy it (the whole car)!! |

You're pretty lucky that they're replacing your lip that easy.

Same happened to me
The dealer valet parked too close to the curb I had it all on my dash cam. Showed him the footage. Dealer paid for everything. |

So frustrating! You are definitely lucky they are replacing it for you, but why can't people be more careful with others' things?

The shitty part of this whole thing was that at first, they told me they were going to order a replacement...well that was going to totally fuck up my timeline to sell the car. Luckily their buy quote was a couple of hundred dollars apart from any other offer so i just accepted theirs and made it their problem. You may not be that lucky, but i hope you are. |

Agree, post service walk around is still important. It's still frustrating if they do damage the car in some way, especially if it involves paint work to the car. Sure they may fix it, but it will never be the same after some incidents.

This happens all the time.
What I always do is take bunch of pictures when the car sitting on service pit and pray for the rest. Some may thinks your SA will mark down any dmgs on paperwork so you have evidence. However, I have seen shady body shop damaged customer car and secretly altered the paperwork when customer report to them. Now you fxxk up. They won't admit anything.

Guys, those lips are fugly, you should be thanking the dealer.
Ps, Discount Tire would not even put my car up on a lift because it was too low (and I don't have the unibrow on my car). They used jacks.

Is it a good idea to leave your dash cam fixed in the car when leaving it for a service? I tend to take mine out (both rear and front), don't want to feel like I'm purposely monitoring them. But because of the front lip I'm thinking i should leave the dash cam in the car running.
