M4 vs X6M?

Ok so i was driving down the road in my 6 speed manual when i see a bmw suv in my rear view hauling a$$ to catch up to me, he then switches lanes to pass me. Once he passed me i switch lanes to go behind him until we get a redlight which is when i see its an X6M and im like hmmm is it fast??? Once the light turn green he just took off with a quickness, obviously i have a manual so as everyone know we are just the slowest at taking off the line. I tried to catch up but he was pulling hard. Unfortunately i had to turn the next block so i couldnt say if it beat my car. After research i saw it has 567hp and now im wondering if it can beat the m4? I tried looking up youtube videos but no one has put these cars next to each other. What do you guys think is the outcome of this matchup even though its 2 complete different classes?

Haha a lot of these knuckleheads don't know how to initiate a race. X6M quarter mile is around 12.1 so I think it would be close

If it was an F86 it'll be close. F96 forget it. Not happening stock for stock.

Dude of course its fast...a X6M is a dct M car/truck or whatever you call it, did you really think it would be "not fast"? my girlfriends 2012 X5 50i is quick & fast.

Odds are you'd loose because manual but both m4 vs X6m being dct my guess it would be close 10 out of 10 times.

Excuse my ignorance its just that i have never even looked into bmw suvs since i have no need or care for them so i have no knowledge of how much power they have, thats why i was asking since it caught me off guard.

The X6/X6M are all wheel drives. They're going to be faster off the line. By the time you reach speeds where your M4 will start gripping, it would've already been way ahead. And that's if you grip at all.

A fair race would be doing a 40 or so roll.

Well it's not an X6M but you may be interested to see a stock M4 ZCP vs. X5M with power added, half mile race

From my brief experience tracking F86 at free PBIR bmw track day and my 6mt m4; I would say 40 roll or above m4 has it. X6 really gives out after 120 or so. Newer G chassis X6 has got to be pretty quick but I haven't driven it yet.

The X6m AWD launch out of the hole is hard to overcome in any RWD m4 even with a tune it might not have enough steam to make up the 60ft difference at the top end.

I drove a new X3M comp and it ripped.

That X5M took off like leaving the grocery store after checkout during this pandemic. Impressive!

The stage 1 tuned X6M was like standing still when M4 was catching up.
next time stage 1 /2 S55 will do it faster

No BMW SUV has ever had a DCT because of towing capacities. Same shifters different transmissions.

Street driving the X-M cars will definitely beat any stock F8X car unless you're doing quarter miles races on public roads.

Thanks I was going to say the same, they are the automatics. However they are hella fast off the line compared to f80/f82 due to 4 wheel drive vs 2 wheel drive. You will beat them on the turns though.

Oh yeah that's for sure. I owned an F85 and just got an F97 and both are phenomenal SUVs with the ZF8.

This would be driver dependent on how confident each was in pushing it to the limit. Lateral grip are spitting distance between most of the X_M range and M4.

X6M can use all his power, while M4 struggle with 1st and 2nd gear to get a grip.
In the wet difference is even bigger, X6M will still put all of his power to the ground.
Active roll bars will make X6M to stay flat in the curves.
Two things where is M4 better is looks and sporty feeling, but that will change with new G82

Were talking 1,000-1,300 pounds difference depending on the options. I think same person and skill level driving both cars on a track with turns the M4 would have less time

No 2020 X5/X6M times I can find, but equivalent class AMG GLC63S ran Nordschleife in 7:49. Civic M4 does it in 7:52. X6M has about 500-600 lbs more weight, but an additional 100hp. It'd be closer than you think.

There are civic m4s on youtube running better times than that lap time, i think that 7:52 is highly incorrect.

The gts runs 25 seconds faster. Yes it has 70 more horses and a better race car but not 25 seconds better, that is an eternity even on that track. I think there was a few videos i saw of mid to low 7:4x.

Also this is a fast track, lots of bombing straights and high speed rundowns, it definetly favours high horsepower cars even big suvs.
