I guess we will see but I would put money on it being at least the 2017 model.

Regarding M vehicles, they have always got their LCI at the same time as the series counterparts. So the F80 is indeed likely to get the LCI next year with the F30. Prevailing opinion suggests The F30/F80 LCI will come in 2015 calendar year as an MY2016, yes. Of course, nothing is officially known yet. But he didn't say that would be the first year of the LCI, right? He was just saying that that's when he would purchase. |

Do you really believe that the F80/F82 will sell more than the E9X M3?
Although I do think that the economy have improved somewhat from 2008, the M3 sales have not -and this version is more expensive than before even with more standard equipment. Other than the F10, F30 and E70, every other BMW model have been slow selling from their respectives get go. The 4-Series lasted a whopping 2 months before it got the hell out of the dealer allocations for ED -opening the door for "invoice plus" sales- and can be had for close to invoice at local dealers. The new F15 is selling already at "invoice plus" -a coworker of mine just got one for $765 over and no dealer fees and that is in South Florida, the kingdom of dealer fees. The M235i is not even at dealer lots and there is already a lease deal on them -by June at the most it will be out of dealer allocations for ED as well. The number of leftover new M5/M6/X5/X6M in the dealers in my area are simply absurd. I do not expect anything different with the M3/M4 demand. Not because of anything bad inherent with it, but because the economy -and the incentives offered because of that- really changed everything at this price bracket. Even Chevrolet said the same thing about Corvette sales -it went from an average of 30,000 units a year to about 16,000 anually for the last 3, just before the Stingray. That's the reason that they are talking about a cheaper base Corvette (non-Stingray) way below $50,000. I bet that we will see plenty of M3/M4 for the first 2 months at the dealer lots and then right after that we will see only customer-sold cars. Exactly like the last 3 years of the E9X M3. After 10 years of JB M3's not having that great no-cost color option is a bummer. Was planning getting a color this time but those are shit for the most part this time around. Even though we have known for a while, no red or "normal" blue is annoying.

Forgot about Apps and didn't really know what "Dynamic" CC was for sure. I've never used CC on any car so don't really care.

I would bet that MY2016 will be an LCI update. Look at the 2nd MY M5s, the 2nd MY E90 M3. The good news is that tail lights can be changed, as well as grilles, unless they change the shape of course (which has only happened once with an M LCI, the e90 M3 and that was because the pre LCI were hideous). Thoughts?

Right, the M3s didn't get the headlights (nor did the previous generation, incidentally). But they did get the respective LCI tail lights and any other LCI content for that matter.

Smart money doesn't spend on cars period. This is a hobby I blew 20k+ getting to enjoy the m5 for a few months, and while it doesn't seem worth it now, who really cares its just money.

Thats about the only cost I didn't foresee was it that much more than the m5 exec. *correction I just looked apparently exec. package was 5500 lol but it really does include way more, even if most of the stuff is meaningless (vent/active seats I've only used a handful of times, soft close/power tail I love) Base $64,200 Yas Marina Blue Metallic $550 Executive Package $4,000 Lighting Package $1,900 DCT $2,900 Adaptive M $1,000 19" Black $1,200 Hk sound $875 Side top view $750 Handling Charge $925 Thats me.. Honestly the DAP is great to try and I think a lot of people would enjoy it, but not sure its actually necessary, bold is about the only musts at least from what I've had on the m5. But either way, I don't know that I want to wait around very long to see how it plays out. The F80 is already nearing mid-life. I want to have the car and enjoy it while it's still fresh, and I personally don't need to have the LCI tail lights, ZCP, or coming updates. I've lived without all of that for the past 5+ years with my 2008 E93 M3. Or, if I do find something I really think I need, I will retrofit. The only thing that would make me feel completely comfortable with waiting right now would be a guarantee that ED cars will not be coming from allocation before end of summer next year. Then I'd wait for sure. |

So it is a bit odd that this is the only 2014/15 BMW in which getting navigation doesn't automatically get you streaming bluetooth. Heck, an X1 with nav allows you to stream music. I don't understand the thinking behind that one? As others had mentioned, I feel that HUD is a must in my build but I could care less about anything else in the ZEC so I will likely not go for it now which is a bummer.
