My oil temps are about the same in S+ mode but I have a Mosselman Oil Thermostat and a CSF oil cooler. If you have neither of those I'd check the oil thermostat.

You replaced which one and what was your issue exactly and did it fix it?

I repalced the actual Low Temp oil thermostat. It's lieterally a 20 min job at best. I had to order a Type 08 Low oil Temp thermostat.

Reason why I know is because my coolant thermostat was stuck open and that gauge in our instrument cluster never moved to the right at all. Effectively with it stuck open, the coolant flow never stopped and was over cooling the car which never allowed it to fully warmed up. Causing poor gas mileage and bogging. But yes, better than being stuck closed, which would result in overheating, as some shops told you.
Hello !

Could you please advise on how to replace the thermostat ? I think that my coolant thermostat is failing and I would like to replace the waterpump and the thermostat together.

Do you know if the fan should be removed first ? I had to remove it once, and it was quite a mess... Thus, I would like to know if there is enough room to remove the water pump + thermostat keeping the fan in place.

Thanks for your help !

Do not have the remove the fan. Thermostat can be access from the bottom. 3 bolts and will require an extension to reach.

Thanks, I should receive the parts over the week and work on the car during the weekend.

I will take some pictures of the process and post them for reference.

Hopefully, I will manage to swap the thermostat and the water pump without major issues.

Regards

I finally replaced the water pump and the thermostat. For this, I did not completly removed the fan, just pushed it downwards until having enough room to work on the water pump.

However, the coolant/oil temperature behavior did not change after doing a road test.

Coolant rises temp until ~220F, time at which the fan starts working and it goes down to 180F. On road driving, the coolant stays between 170-185F on "Confort driving".

The oil temp oscillates around 200-210F, when before, it was around 220-230F.

I would say that my car is around 20F lower than it should be...

Could it be that the coolant temperature sensor is failing?
