Shopping my M3 as we speak and this thread and that look convinced me of getting 513 18s! Looks amazing.
Have 19s on my E92 335is and am sick of them getting beaten by DC roads. I drive so carefully but there is always the one not seen that seems to get hit every year. Better contact, great look and lighter!? SOLD! |

Several people have already mentioned on this thread that they plan to use the 513M wheels for a winter setup.
What's the major difference between the 513M and the 640M(18'') which BMW advertises as winter wheels. I know the width is different 9 and 10 for the 513 and 8.5 and 9 for the 640, but anything else apart from that? |

Much less expensive to be exposed to road salt and the hazards of winter

Big time! Finally, found some people that agree. I too, agree and think the look of the stock 18 is just perfect. (with a slight drop of course =))BMW really hit the jackpot with this one. The wheels look amazing on M3s too...like E96 or E92 or whatever they are...the V8 one. I doesn't look like the usual M wheels. It's very, dare I say, race inspired? I kid you not, when I drive my car, I get tons of thumbs up and people staring at the wheels. I just noticed that the 18s make the brake rotors look massive. With a side view of the wheel, all you see is a giant brake rotor and immediately see the lip of the wheel when you start looking outwards towards he wheel. It looks so aggressive. Love it! =) Thanks for helping me swap them out. What would I do without you guys? *sigh*

Kentucky math here but isn't that ~6 lbs more unsprung per corner versus the 513s?? Keep your zcp 19hp for those hideous boat anchors (or trade/sell them)

In the following link the specs from the manufacturer.
Here you can also see the difference between normal and GTS 666M The 513M is the only one which is stated as lightweight. http://www.fuchsfelge.de/index.php?id=966&L=1 |
