AMG GTR owner here.

MO spec Cup 2

Its a mono compound. Standard cup 2 is a bi-compound.

The MO spec comes with greater tread, is harder wearing, and has longer tyre life compared to a normal cup 2.

In effect this means, it has less peak grip, but is more stable for continous lapping and doesnt fall off as quickly.

Warm up time also takes longer than a standard cup 2.

Its a good tyre if you like to stay out on track for alot of laps at a time but personally I prefer the higher grip levels and faster warm up of the normal cup 2.

The MO spec is basically a compromise designed for the GTR as it is a tyre that comes fitted as standard.

Its not a nice daily tyre and not great on track.

I'm considering the MPC2 240tw for replacement. Street and occasional track 1-2 times a year.

I'm on the stock 19'' 437s

I had the PS4S which lasted a 3 track sessions but as my skill increased, I was only able to get 3 laps before they were greasy at Thunderhill or Laguna Seca

I recently tried the Star MPSS and had fast laps at Big Willow but they would greasy similar to the PS4S.

I know most like the 35 series but I'm not a fan of the meaty look.

So I'm considering the Cup2 in 275/30/19 and 295/30/19
Would this application work? Stock height, no spacers

There’s no point to run the MPSC2 primarily on the street with a track day thrown in 1-2 times per year. You’ll have completely heat cycled out the MPSC2 by daily driving it. Track, and even some 200TW, tires only have a finite number of heat cycles before there’s no useable grip available. DD a MPSC2 means you’ll have a lot of tread depth left when the tire is heat cycled out.

A 295 tire is too wide for a 10” wide wheel. Sticking a wide tire on a narrow rim results in poor wheel support and loss of performance. Here’s one of many articles that have tested tire widths vs. wheel widths and concluded wider isn’t better.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll probably re-order the MPSS * until I can get dedicated track wheels.

I have 763M with the Cup2* tires in the front, and the inner wall is touching the spring seat of the front strut when cornering hard and with track driving.

There are some light black markings on the spring seat when I removed the suspension.

Tire size 265-35-19

Kind of weird knowing this is OEM BMW size and specs.
