My local tracks I'm primarily in 3rd due to longer gearing with the MT. I shift to 4th on the longer straights and want to maintain the higher power to keep pulling into the braking zone. Ended up being a setup I enjoy on the street too as it makes me smoother around town.

Yeah I think the main issue is the tire height/avoiding the spring perch. What I've seen is to avoid tires taller than 26.3" (295/35/18 is 26.1) to avoid scraping the liners too much, and ideally run a shorter spring/no helper to get the perch avoid the tire. But with the 295/35 the tire is pretty damn tall, so most people do a 295/30 instead. That being said if you run a spacer and get the effective offset around +15, dial in the camber between -3.5/4, I think you would be good. This is all theoretical though based on what I've seen a lot of people run.

The Assist M4 runs an 18x11 square with 295/35. They do have front lower control arms to play with track width, but we should have extra room with 18x10.5 instead. The rear will be tight but camber and/or pull the fender a tad for some extra clearance and boom. I will try to explore this more when my 275s wear and if I can find some setups locally to play with before I commit!

Also aside from the Assist M4, I also love the sunbeam F80. They run 18x10.5 RIA and a 295/35 A052 up front. Clearance looks good:

The Assist m4 is the build im trying to copy lol, that sunbeam f80 is what im talking about. That looks really good.

I just ordered a bucket seat for my f80 cant wait to put it in

Anyone have any suggestions to raise the seat cushion in the rear. Recaro suggest adding a 7mm + 6mm spacer to the rails to raise the entire seat. I already added a 7mm spacer. Or is a 20mm spacer on a m8 bolt safe? Didn't want to put such a big spacer under the slider.

I'm 5'10 and I have a nice view of my cluster when I'm all the way into the seat. This is the seat at the highest mounting points using the recaro rms rails.

What about a phone book?

Seriously though, I'm kinda in your boat. At 6'0, my Cobra seats (the lowest position) are annoyingly low for street driving but perfect for the track days. I'm debating a removable insert cushion for occasional street driving.

During all of this found out I have a massive valve cover leak near the passenger side which sucks was hoping not to have any crazy maintenance to do but here's the first one I noticed.

Have an alignment set up for this upcoming Monday. Shooting for a more track orientated alignment for a squared set up. Any tips would greatly be appreciated!

Are you running any spacer in the front?

Finally took the car to the track. Due to some “shop” that didn’t flush my oem fluid out properly. I lost brakes going 120. Had to
Bleed the old oem Fluid out the calipers and completely the flush. But by the 3rd lap I felt my brake pedal getting mushy and softer due to air getting into the system. I think maybe there’s air in the abs Modul now.

I couldn’t really get a real feel for the car since my confidence was shot with the brakes. Still managed to drive 2 seconds faster then my pb in my tracked prep s2000.

Garage List
That looks like Homestead. Fun track. But those barriers can be scary of the brakes aren’t 100.

Fabricating some custom brackets for this voltex swan neck I picked up. Probably not going to run it on the track. But I’ll run it eventually!

Also have a laptorr front lip coming in from Japan. Can’t wait

Someone help me chose a street brake pad that’s safe to mix brake compounds with a PFC08. Low to zero dust is a must

Still having brake issues. Around 10 minutes on the track I’m experincing bad brake fade now. Not sure it’s because my rotors basically have zero life left on them. Im in the market for two piece rotors and will be adding brake ducts before the next event.

What brake ducts are you planning on using?

Buying the eBay gt4 rep ones. And going to use a custom plate to rivet onto the dust shield

you may need to do the dsc bleed procedure in order to get all of the air out. plus if you are running long tracks, consider the pfc07 rear. should shift a bit of brake torque to the rear, but not really a 'solution'. might as well just do an AP racing bbk with the way your build is going especially for long tracks.

I’m trying to avoid a bbk as long as possible. Currently running Girodisc rotors, ferro ds 1:11 pads, Castrol srf and titanium brake pad shims. So far so good

Planning on adding gt4 ducts. Also considering a set of titanium caliper pistons for the stock calipers.

Before going to the GT4 ducts, have you considered this?
https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...highlight=duct

Probably a bit cheaper and less work to set up, might be a good first move and see if it suffices.

I had my brother in law print me off a set of those scoop ducts. To be honest I just like the looks of the gt4 ducts better. I’m going the eBay rout as well.

There is I a great video on YouTube that shows how to make the gt4 ducts functional.

The rears fit perfectly, no work needed at all just running some neg camber. Only running a spacer in front to clear the suspension.

I had a shop
Do the bleed procedure for me. He told me there was a lot of air in the system. But still had brake issues. Zero confidence in them after experiencing the fade
