Brake cooling options
There doesn't seem to be much talk about brake cooling for the F80. The GT4 style bumper inlets are available but I'm not going to cut into my bumper.
Anyone have experience or an opinion on the options below? Burkhart Engineering.....Reasonably priced but taking warmer air from the coolers?? https://burkhart-engineering.com/sho...m3-m4-f8x-bmw/ RevoZport.....Expensive and requires a separateley purchased front lip add on and the BMW performance front lip. The backing plates appears to direct air onto the rotor face and not the central vanes. https://www.revozport.com/product/m3...e-cooling-kit/ Signature Werks.....From the pics this kit seems confusing. Is it similar to the Burkhart kit where it pulls air from behind the coolers or does it snake through an opening and draw air from unused space adjacent to the radiator? https://mashimarho.com/products/sign...-bmw-f8x-m3-m4 Any other comprehensive options out there?

Don't disagree, but it is another (nearly) turnkey option. I've yet to pursue any additional cooling, so don't have firsthand experience with any of the available options

About to start tracking my m4. I’ve been researching brake cooling heavily. I am surprised there isn’t a consensus on a kit that works that isn’t crazy expensive. Still searching.

My approach to brake cooling has always been to run a bbk that doesn't need it. The bimmerworld-alcon one delivers

This works well. But now there are a few people that have used the GT4 ducts that go above the AUX coolers and snake the hose through. Back when i did this everyone said the GT4 ducts wouldn't work on a street car.

The signature works ones look like they use unused central air cooler space. It might impact that cooler, but otherwise probably similar to the gt4 fang ducts. Same routing through the bumper.

I recently did a back to back and side by side test of traditional brake cooling (hose routed from the GTMore splitter to a backing plate feeding air to the rotor) vs the newly released BimmerWorld brake deflectors. Turns out the brake deflectors were extremely close to the same effectiveness as the traditional system - within 10 degrees F of caliper temp that the hose system yielded. And you don't have to deal with brake hose that always gets torn up when trying to use a brake cooling system on a car that may see the street - or just for sharp turns in the paddock.

It is one of the few kits that are actually done properly, where it ducts air into the rotor hat instead of onto the brake disc. The reason why you want to duct air into the hat is because it prevents uneven heating of the rotor surface which causes warping and cracking. When you duct air into the hat the rotor vanes pull air through the center of the rotor and that evenly cools both faces of the rotor. I also have a review out on some rotors for the f8x chassis which are a pretty nice upgrade if you require more brake cooling: https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=2049120

Bumping this thread back up and those that tested the BW Brake Cooling deflectors, how well has it work and holding up?
