For me the 4 series "felt" lower and more closed in compared to the 3 series. Does anyone know if the height of the drivers window is the same in both cars? Maybe that adds to the feeling of the M4 seeming to be a lower seating position.

I'm a coupe guy but getting the sedan for 3 reasons:
1. I think it looks better this time around. Those rear fenders look so stout. 2. Practicality. Hated having people climb through to the back seat 3. Shorter doors. Hated the long doors on the e92, which made getting in/out of the car in tight spaces difficult. |

Get the sedan if you drive older people around. Kids don't have trouble getting in and out. You actually help them when they're really young and they help themselves when they get older.
It's the older folks that really struggle. |

Everytime I look at the F80....
I want to change my mind about ordering the F82..
I have a daily driver, Porsche cayenne suv, so I do not need a four door. I am not married and do not have any kids. But there is something about the M3 than makes me want it. I want a coupe so I'm sticking with the M4. But I really really love the sedans. Looks much better than my e90 m3. Anyone else torn about platforms? The poor color choices have really handicapped our decision making process, making choosing the "right" combo difficult. Now I find myself going back and forth.. Coupe/sedan |

Have you seen the M4 in real life? I haven't but I'm positive I will find it more attractive than the sedan. I always do except maybe for the E60 M5 which I prefer over the M6.
How do you like the F30 vs the F32? I'm wobbling myself but not because I think the M3 will look better, more that I don't know if the M4 look enough better to make up for the inconvenience of loading the kids into a coupe... |

Not seen the cars in the metal yet but I know a lot of people here have and there is definitely an opinion that the M3 looks more muscular and aggressive.
I could buy either but will take the M3 for this reason.

I'm sticking with the M4. I have to admit, the F80 looks much better than anticipated, but for me personally there's something about the M4 that gives it the edge.

I think part of the issue is this, at least for me: F30--->F80 much bigger difference than F32--->F82. Seems like BMW tried real hard to make the F32 a more "upscale" car that looks prettier and drives more sporty. So an M3 compared to the 3 series looks much more aggressive, and different. Much like the E9X M's are unmistakably different than their E9X non-M brethren; even in black, the difference is noticeable from a distance. But the M4, while very different at heart (where it matters), looks more similar to the 4 series, because they tried to make the 4 series more aggressive/sporty looking (I mean with the M-sport package, of course). I'd be hard pressed to tell the difference between a black M4 and a 435i from a distance.
That said, I'm going for the M4. I'm just really thinking about the color. I'll be honest, it's kept me up a night or two (for just a few mins tho). Black, Silverstone, Grey, now maybe YMB??? argh. |

I have yet to see the cars in person. I just like how when u see an F80 even a pedestrian will know it's an M car because of how aggressive it looks as opposed to the M4 not being as aggressive. But which car performs better to me will be the selling point, and based off weight, M4 has that edge.
I was pissed off by bmw doing this M3/M4 name change. But they made up for it by keeping the iconic M3 name and making it look so sweet in it's own way |
