Thought I saw a 4series today, but it didn’t count…it ended up having dealer plates. It was probably a loaner.

DLR plates or new plates? Loaners typically do not have DLR plates.

I figured they would adjust the steering ratio to make it so users didn't have to do a standard full rotation to turn the car and that's how they were going to get away with it. How it is now Im pretty shocked this was allowed as well.

I've seen two convertibles recently, the front plate does not help one bit.

The steering seems like it would be infuriating for driving in anything other than a straight line, according to Motortrend though, Tesla will only offer the yoke, once again, Musk forcing his idea of the future on everyone else.

Watching videos of people driving it and instinctively trying to grab the upper steering wheel for it to not be there is pretty hilarious. Just another "dIsRuPtIvE" idea with literally 0 practical or real world use cases

People will defend this.

Honestly it would drive my up the wall not being able to rest my arm on top of the steering wheel

But then again a Tesla is not something I'd buy, just hope others won't follow this fool.

Has safety recall written all over it. I would not drive on track with this wheel. You can't disappear the upper portion of a steering wheel that is the primary control point and definitely where emergency maneuvering instinctively occurs...

This is a half ass take from Motor Trend.

The yoke's design keeps your hands at 9 and 3 o'clock (where they should be), and it feels nice.

Except 9 and 3 occurs on and above the center wheel divide, not below. No one holds 9 and 3 below the divide on a standard wheel.

In a proper 9 and 3 position, there is regular interaction between thumb, index, other fingers above the divide. It's a point of coordination. With this design the arms are at an incorrect downward angle and four fingers, or the entire fist, is pulling/pushing up against the center divide for control? That's just stupid.

If they wanted to do something racy, then a proper wheel design with thumb holes.

No yoke or yoke hand positioning used here.

No yoke or yoke hand positioning used here.

Hopefully the yokers only kill themselves during an emergency or when instinct kicks in and not others until someone forces the change.

Is this approved for Europe?
I hope not!

Don't need more stupid on the road, enough Tesla's around as is

Officials at the Nürburgring have announced that a corner will be renamed in honour of Sabine Schmitz, who lost her battle with cancer earlier this year.
The first corner on the Nordschleife – a left-hander after turning off the Grand Prix circuit – will now be known as the Sabine-Schmitz-Kurve.

An official inauguration will take place at the six-hour race of the Nürburgring Endurance Series on 11 September. Sabine of course won the Nürburgring Endurance Series when it was known as VLN back in 1998, because of course she did.

Now generations will know the Queen forever

Still must be region dependent… near DC I have seen exactly ZERO on the road. My local dealer has a black M4 that I finally got around to seeing in person last month… it's been there since March/April, still unsold as of a week or so ago. Another dealer about an hour away has sold three I believe.

Like several others have said - I truly hoped the G80 would be great, as I've loved BMWs for decades, specifically the M3. No matter how hard I try, I can't get past the aesthetics… it's just a complete failure to me. Un-cohesive, bloated, and aggressive in a clownish way. I would never spend +$80k on a car and not be able to look back at it every time I park it and smile. I often look back twice at my F80. I have not talked to a single person at our local cars and coffee that actually likes the exterior design… I figured there would be at least someone, I usually talk to a fair number of new people each week… nobody. I stared at and sat in the black G82 at my local dealer for nearly 90 minutes while I waited for recall work done on my old 335i… it only got uglier as more time passed. Sure the dark color makes it look less terrible, but is that really what it's come to… dark colors to make it look "less terrible"?! I work hard for my money, I could never spend it on that abomination. I'm sad that's the case.

Agree. The biggest issue is that race cars with those wheels have 300-400 degrees of turning, while the Tesla has like 900 degrees. Negates any benefit of that wheel.

I saw that, I can get the interior comments (although its honestly perfectly fine to sit in) but the exterior comments are pretty ironic, especially the one comment saying they couldn't get use to the front end

It’s the same 5ppl posting everyone else is either banned or any negative comment gets deleted.

G8x owners making fun of other cars front end styling 🤣

Mods probably thought it was too political due to the California comments.
