That should not happen, did you install the ir? You need to access the service menu to make some changes.

Update after having my camera for about 4 weeks.

I like it. I no longer stress about pulling into a parking space and crunching the front end.

It works just as I wanted it to however the camera is not as good as the OEM cameras mounted everywhere else. It is sometimes hard to see a curb if it is the same color as the ground and in the shade on a bright day. This camera does not work very well in poor light and has terrible contrast. But it does work.

Would I do it again? I would, but just barely. It's a lot of money for what it does.

I appreciate the update. Sucks about the voice command tho... Cuz i do use that button quite a bit. It will be annoying as hell if i lose that function.
I wonder if the camera is replaceable with a better cam and different brand.

I did not install the ir. I didn't know there would be a use for it. Can the unit be programmed via the ir? If so, it's a bummer I didn't plug it in.

I don't think it's worth digging back into the dash again. I'm just going to leave it as it is.

...but you labeled the X5 high end as if the M cars are cheap, low end products. I'd also consider an M3/M4 a higher end product than say, a 528i or 535i. The 6's and 7's are in another category however.

I have installed an aftermarket front camera, I added a camera swticher as well, in order to make the screen show front image automatically or manually.
