Maybe it's just me, but I think this looks hideous. The GTS/GT3 itself in stock form is a thing of beauty, but all the doo-dads stuck on this really ruins it for me. It's like someone threw up on it.

I'm sure someone has stated this already, inozetek's new vinyl is insane, the closest one to real paint. Find a reputable shop to install it and you won't regret it.
I personally wrapped my car with 3M 2080 Satin Black, it's great, except is attracted to dust lol.

I have suntek ultra on my M3 that's 4 years old, it is holding up well and still very glossy. A few rocks did penetrate but for a 4 year old car, I think it held up well. I just got stek dynomatte on my model 3 which supposedly has built in hydrophobic coating (but I think they all do?). Time will tell how that'll hold up, but it does look awesome.
To answer your question, I don't think you'll regret it (assuming wrap == ppf)

I've never seen a wrapped car which didn't look like shit up close. Even the most exotic of cars wrapped by the best shops in either the SF or LA area where I spend most of my time...nothing has been at a level I'd be happy owning. You simply can't expect perfection. You also have to comfortable with a wrap-shop employee taking your car apart and hoping it goes back together without a hitch. Good luck with that.

I've been hearing a lot about Autoflex lately. Honestly wish there was someone in the US or Canada that offered the type of "Liquid Spray" like Litchfield and Topaz does in the UK... https://www.litchfieldmotors.com/blo...y-liquid-wrap/ I know Autoflex is similiar but actual quality of application is based on the applicator. Wondering why IND doesn't get in this game. |

As I'm not a fan of Vinyl and its look, Stek Dynoblack-Matte (PPF) is a good step up! Way more expensive though. I was debating doing my roof in this and then expel stealth the rest of the car. |

"Seems like such a waste of money and the risks don't equal the rewards."
If you want to change the color of the car and a good wrap works, why is this a waste of money? Sometimes a change of pace reignites a passion for a car. Sure beats selling just to get a different color. I am looking at a carbon wrap for my M4 roof, and a Speed Yellow wrap form my 911. I see alot of up north issues. What about South Florida. Is heat too much of an issue? My two cars are driven about 75 miles a week and take turns in the garage and are always under a canopy at the office.

I've had my GT3 wrapped a few times, first one was gloss metallic blue. It looked like a toy and didnt stay on for long. I then did nardo grey, it looked cool but showed the swirls easily and the color is a bit pale. I then switched to green/black iridescent by KPMF. Had it on the car for a year now, looks like paint and no orange peel.

I wrapped my whole car in clear Stek ppf and i love it. It's like a thick layer of clearcoat, gives a deeper colour. Always shiny, no scratches, bird poo, stone chips. I can wipe it off without getting scratches and holograms. Expensive but very good, especially on dark colours.

That's a sick wrap on the GT, but i imagine that car never sees the light of day. . I think wraps can definitely be a nice addition but it's not going to be your longterm solution and will all the headache of dealing with issues from it I'd kinda just prefer a solid MFG color.
Anyways, what have y'all been seeing at in terms of car wrap prices? I'd imagine you're looking in the 2-5k range for anything decent. Still better than a paint job but annoying nonetheless. |
