Carplay issue, need some help.
My carplay has been working flawlessly up until recently. I'm not sure if an iOS update changed something but I am currently on the latest iOS 13.5.1
My issue is that my carplay (especially waze and google maps) has been freezing or has been extremely laggy. However, I found out if my phone is unlocked and screen is on, carplay runs smoothly. The second i turn off the phone screen, carplay freezes and is extremely laggy again. Does anyone else have this issue? If so, any way to fix it? Also to note, i do have the fullscreen hack if it makes any difference. But i've had the fullscreen working smoothly without issues until recently with this problem. Thanks in advance. |

I have not loaded iOS 13.5.1, just checked and now I am reluctant to update.
OP, when was the last time your car was at a dealer for service or software update?

I last took it to the dealer for software update on Aug 2019. Had no issues until recently. I'm not sure if I had this issue before the iOS update to be honest.

Are you using an Apple watch in the car as well? We've had a few customers who had similar issues and unpairing the Apple watch seems to resolve the issue.

So I've managed to completely delete the phone and add it again. That actually fixed it....for about 15-20 minutes. Now it's freezing again every time I turn the phone screen off. Is nobody else having this issue with their carplay?
