The JDM Inspired F80 M3 Build (Every Build Has A Story)

There are many unique F80 builds out there but this one is on a different level. What do you get when you buy your first German car and all your previous builds were JDM?

I wanted to write this post and share with the community of this incredible build owned by Sheldon. Sheldon is a local car enthusiast here in South Florida and about a year ago, took the plunge and bought his first German car. Like many of us, this was his dream car and he wanted to make it his own. Being highly influenced with the JDM community, he made it an incredible build.

Rear :
Varis rear under tray
Akrapovic diffuser
ASM Titanium license plate bolts

Exhaust - AWE Track Exhaust

3D Design Carbon fiber trunk lip

Front:
Laptorr front lip
IND black kidney grills
IND reflector delete
Carbon fiber splitters

Wheels / Suspension :
BBS Motorsport E88 Forged Wheels
H&R Street Performance Coilovers with KW EDC Delete
Macht Schnell stud conversion
Carbon ceramic brakes

Interior :
The one race bucket seat is a common in Japan which inspired the owner for this setup.
Recaro RS-G
Recaro Japan seat rails
ASM bolster protector
M-Performance V1 steering wheel
Alcantara shift boot
Alcantara emergency brake boot
WC Lathe Werks Titanium shift knob
Custom Arm delete
IND red state button
IND blue M buttons
DragInt checkered floor mats

Most of the modifications as you can see are from majority Japanese companies or made specifically for the Japanese market. Some future mods, are crankhub fix, downpipe and tune.

Best Part, the owner actually bought the LCI head lamps. He should be installing them soon to tie in the build.

I spoke with the owner about it when we were filming, He said they are great. Only issue is the lack of EDC.

How is this a JDM build besides the single Recaro bucket?

Car looks great but If this is JDM so are 70% of the builds on this forum.

What are the offset on those e88 ? Thought those won’t clear CCBs.

There are a few other brands like Varis, ASM, and Laptorr. Funny enough, Recaro is German.

I was very very confused reading through the mod list lol. Not sure what makes this a JDM build at all.

Sorry you had trouble reading through it. I listed a few of the mods then a few corresponding photos.

Along with the Varis Diffuser and Laptorr front lip he has the following:

-Recaro RS-G (The Recaro RS-GS was originally created for the Japanese market. It's an ideal full bucket seat for both street and circuit)

-Recaro Japan Seat Rails

-ASM Bolster protector (ASM is based out of Japan)

-ASM Titanium license plate bolts

-DragInt Checkered floor mats (Popular JDM designed floor mats)
