Speak for yourself! At 35 I'm in better shape than most men regardless of age.

I understand your sentiment, but these are M3's... They will be compared to prior and future M3's forever... and forever is a long ass time.

Sure Bro...not only does it NOT sound better but 1 series cars are ugly as sin.

But a cool story.

I don't know your financials but 12k left? You can't be doing bad at all owning the M3 and buying a new M so keep it. Low miles, paid off? It's a no brainer, that is a manly mans drive way seeing both cars parked next to one another
There's a lot of car that I'd prefer to own before owning two generations of M3!

M3 + 911
M3 + Cayman S
M3 + RS5
M3 + GT-R
M3 + R8
M3 + TT RS

but M3 + M3 seems like a waste of money to me!

This video actually doesn't sound that bad. Like someone said it, it has character, similar to E46. I think I'm starting to like it.

Can't beat the sound if the S65 V8.

But this is an I6, you can't expect the same sound.

I'm sure those who are complaining, wont be once they drive it. (That's what active sound is for :P)

I tried listening to these vids on various devices, even on BOSE SURROUND SOUND... but it didn't sound any good through BOSE either...

however, on iPhone 5 with new gen headphones,- it did sound very legit, deep and high pitch as Formula One engine... sounded good enough so that I am thinking F80/82 sounds more as a race car than my E92 V8!!!
sounded awesome!
in my opinion, when you hear these Ms in person, your heart rate sure will increase!

bottom line, have to hear these cars in person before making any judgment...

Earphones do help the sound.

So what are you saying we need to plugin our headphones to the active sound speakers in the car to hear good engine sound?

Well look at it this way, when the old M3 is about to get lapped by the new M3 you won't hear it coming. You will only see tail pipes and a raspy sound, I like to fly under the radar I didn't know the enthusiast were so much in to sound on these boards. I love how vette and Shelby boys brag about their engine sound and when I spank that car on the track either my 6 banger GTR they walk away angry.
