CH,
Re the front grilles, yes, you can just buy the M sport black grilles for a 4 coupe, and just swap the outer trims around, i have done this myself, the part numbers from you local dealer are B51.71.2.336.813 B51.71.2.336.814. Be very gentle when swapping the trims over, but it really is a simple job, and from memory, the grilles cost around the £100 mark all in, regards, Simon. |

The ones at over £200, will probably be for the genuine M4 grilles, but you only want the M Sport ones for the 4 coupe, so you can use the outer surrounds on your own grilles. Ask at your dealers for the part numbers i gave, regards, Simon. |

Phots are great! Looks like grand theft auto! Just need some phots from behind now going like the clappers down the motorway narrowly avoiding traffic! (well maybe after your 1200 mile service)

Okay, I've just tried to fit the black kidney grills following IND's video that was posted on page 1 of this thread. In the video they remove the rubber strip and 8 screws. The guy then pulls up the loosened cover with one hand and puts his other hand in to pop out the kidney grills. He pops the three catches that run along the top of each kidney and then they just fall out. This depiction is as true to life as lesbian porn movies. The reality is that there are 5 further catches on each kidney grill, one on each side and three along the bottom that are completely inaccessible. Also, on the right side grill (the side they don't touch in the video) there seems to be some kind of electronic device attached.
I'm pretty pissed off that IND has posted this video making out that this is an easy DIY task so that they can sell a ton of black surrounds to the unwitting customer. Before I repost this in IND's original thread is there anybody that has actually managed to do this themselves and offer any advice how to uncoil the remaining 5 catches? CH. |

Thanks for the info. I did manage to get the two side clips off too but still couldn't get the thing out. Those bottom clips are in tight. I will try your bent spoon method tomorrow maybe. Shame that the tabs have to be snapped off the grills to make this work. I'm still annoyed that IND are able to post up that fake video of the things just dropping out Cheers, CH. |
