Was it a machine/computer malfunction, sleeping employee, bad batch of parts on that particular day/week? It aroused my curiosity as to how they know which exact cars on a run of many more than the 2400 or so BMW says is affected. BTW, my car does not seem to be affected based on a search using the NHTSA link in the 1st post.
manufacturing today can locate parts and what car they are attached to easily. driveshaft made, gets part #1234, serial #098. this goes into drive assembly #1e3, serial #2e6. this goes into car identified by VIN 12344567890. All this is in a database. So they know serial #098 was made by DT on a Monday 2016. Those are bad, so then they know exactly which cars DTs Monday work went into. This gets even more detailed down to individual components.

2016 M3 ZCP 6MT - Took delivery in Apr '16, second delivered ZCP on the East Coast - No recall.

Wondering if its DCT or 6MT specific?

Mine is a 7/2016 build, and it looks like it's affected.

As old as mustang crowd jokes, tire pressure was 1.5 psi off on one rear tire.

Thankfully I'm not affected; I'm sure that would've been a nightmare with my build smh.

Such a specific number of cars affected...this is really interesting...much have been a bad batch of parts or something.
You can look on the door sticker for your build month/year.

I pick up my new 2017 m3 Competition on Saturday - new ultimate package that was unsold.
I tried putting in the VIN in, using the VIN# link provided, but looks like this link is only for BMW USA. Does the recall affect Canadian 2016/2017 models as well? Anyone know of a link to check Canadian cars?

My 2016 M4 Coupe went into production on March 24, 2016 and completed production on April 7, just 3 weeks after the start of the affected manufacturing dates of March 2, 2016 – September 30, 2016. It is not affected by the recall.

This links directly to all of the related documents for this recall on the NHTSA website: https://www.nhtsa.gov/vehicle/2016/B...DR/RWD#recalls

Road was wet. Some idiot cut me off and I had to turn real quick, must have hit oil or those white painted lines and I spun out hit that concrete column that holds up metro rail right in front of south Miami hospital. Crazy.... I drove by right where it happened and can't believe how lucky I was. Missed some trees and another column by a miracle.

My F82 is a July 6th 2016 build (MY2017)
It's a Canadian spec car. I checked my vin on the BMW Canada recall site and it says zero recalls.

https://www.bmw.ca/en/ssl/VehicleRec...ljbGVSZWNhbGwv

Maybe it's not affected or it's just slow to include Canada as part of the recall. I'm thinking it's the latter.

Its a trick to get your CFDS, don't dot it! Probably need them for the new GTS.

Glad you survived. With the awd G80, MxDrive is significantly safer in slick conditions.
