I signed up for the event the next day (Sept 24th) at PIR sponsored by BMW Kuni. Hope it helps ease the pain of waiting to be reunited with my car. Completed my ED August 28th of my AW F80.

Interesting, so Portland one day, Kuni the next. Hope any cars survive for you!

The group from BMWNA that runs the event sets up shop on a track and each day is sponsored by a dealership in the area. It is probably the same group that runs the event around the country... what a great job.

I just got invited to another BMW track day by a different BMW dealer. Same track, different day (September 17th), but this time the cars are 6 and 7 Series cars, including M6GC and 6Series M Sport Edition, but no mention of M3 and M4. They probably have different email content for different invites.

I will just go to the Friday one.

This is the one I did. It is fun just because you get to trash these landboats, but you will have more fun with the M3/4. Also, they didn't let us take the M6 on the fast road course.... only the tight autocross. And I'm sure you know, but the M6GC was not built to autocross.

The invite I received said M3, M4, 6 & 7 series including M6 Gran Coupe. Should be fun day

Going to the Ultimate Driving Experience car control clinic at Santa Anita Sept 17 using the M3 and M235i. Should be fun as well.

I wrote you a long answer, but my phone ate it. Here is the short version.

Peter has a bad oil measuring thingy (yes, correct technical term as you see), he keeps insisting he's running low. That plus my not according to the system wearing seat belt is annoying as hell. I'm no mechanic and certainly not on this language, but oil is kind of one of the things even I know is needed not to blow up my poor boy toy.

He is not giving out any error data, so nothing is to be done according to two dealers, one of them never even read the computer I'm sure. The thing that now bugs the shit out of me, is that he takes a sharp left every time (well often anyway) when braking. This has started to mess with my quality time with coffee, I can not enjoy my cup while approaching lights as I used to, now I'm stuck holding the wheel steady.

I could take my husband to handle this with me, but for two reasons this is not an option.

1. He knows absolutely nothing about cars. He rides a bicycle, and he has no interest in these.

2. I've dealt with contractors, electricians, hell, I've renovated two houses, went to the army and lived through the shit that women there get, I made the midwife who wanted to hand out bad tips about child care cry when she tried to bully me, I have lived with my mother for 18 years and survived mostly sane, I have a Jack Russell that I only dream of killing twice a day, and most of all, I bloody hell have dealt with life because I can. IF I would go to him to ask him to come to service a car with me, he would howl and laugh till the end of his life which would be shortened by me at that point, since I have never, ever have had to ask a man do something this simple in my behalf.

I'm going to hire an actor if needed, but sure as hell will I ever give him the joy of getting a smug look on his face because Anna had her first I'm just a girl moment in her life.

Yes, a rant, but shorter than the original.
Ha! Even made my wife laugh........that's a first regarding cars.

I'm going to the Sept. 24th event. I was originally on the fence about buying a new M4 to replace my E92 M3. Recently leaning to keep the E92 M3........we'll see after this event as it will be the best test drive I could ask for.

If you decide to upgrade (debate is still on in many minds) to this model, tell her to contact me.

I will make you suffer more than you ever dreamed possible! I'll even hand her the perfect summer holiday suggestion link. It'll involve you too.

Don't break the cars!
Oops, guess I'm on the day before you - I'll try not to break one!

Crap, I wished I'd checked here before today's event at Pacific Raceway. I was there, and it was a blast. Even when driving 750s around the big track. First time I've done any sort of track event. Now I can't wait until the next one...

Your car color sucks man.

I don't remember meeting you, but I'm sorry if that happened anyway.

Garish isn't it?

I saw you there, you seemed to have quite the following. I couldn't think of a way to say hi without sounding internet stalkerish. "Hi, I've been following your blog..."

LOL I got that only 20 times, so no worries. I'm cool with the local and the Canadian M crew, and joining us is easy, it just takes a love for the cars and leaving the idiotic lines to someone else.

Nice pics, thanks for posting. Picked the wrong day to drive the MB family hauler instead of my 5er. Definitely felt out of place as I parked...
