THIS - every-freaking-day.

Chevy/Dodge bazooka exhaust.

Really? rev your 700lb/ft diesel at me.

I'll still WALK on you. BAH!

rant off
I had some hillbilly in a big jacked-up Dodge Ram pickup with the big vertical exhaust pipes sticking up between the back of the cab and the bed of the truck - revving his engine st the light. Looked like one of those 'Murica dudes that hates any non-American vehicle.

Needless to say - he avoided me at the next light....

Surprisingly, I had my car for 6 months (4100 miles) and NOBODY has ever tried to race me yet... except few of my friends.. no strangers on the street tried to race me once..

Peak torque is irrelevant without gearing. It's all about power area under the curve. On average, a DCT M3 will be slightly faster than a GT350 and 6MT M3 will be slightly slower. The F8X and GT350 are pretty closely matched in terms of acceleration. A GT350R will be faster due to lighter weight and gearing advantage of the smaller diameter tires, but not by much.
Mustangs have been know to have smaller gear boxes. Their V8 used to hold a 3:10 on the V8 and a S2000 had 4:10 on an i4. Other than weight, who do you think won the race?!!

Let me guess, the car with the better power-to-weight ratio...

An older Honda Civic with tinted windows and Eibach stickers on his car tried racing me. I let him go by because I don't have any interest in dealing with this shit.

I get it pretty much daily as well, mostly at traffic lights. Unless evenly match, which are not many, I don't even bother anymore.

After a while I just stopped taking the bait, they only look to provoke as most know they have no hope to win. Straight line racing is fun but country curves are better, this plus the fact where I live police are everywhere and it's tough to hide as you blow by people in an SO M3.

My point was against the poster that said a GT350 "has very little torque". I understand area under a curve and I also understand a car with 100 more hp. The M3 will make torque much sooner but from a roll in the power band, I don't think it would be close.

I've had my car for a little over two years now and I've had one person ever try to race me. And it was during pretty heavy traffic..... hahaha idiot. But I don't really get any attention around Southern California. I think these cars are just so common around here that no one cares.

Let me clear up that what I mean by that statement is that the car doesn't make torque like a normal V8. IE previous M3 vs the new one. That's how I ended up saying it makes very little torque. My wording was off. The power is at the top end. I was saying that he didn't walk away from me like I thought he would.

Took a road trip to Pennsylvania from the NY area for a wedding this weekend.

A Subaru and random Audi at the same time. Blew them away.

Honda Accord. He thought he was fast. Blew that sucker away also.

I think people just wanna try and keep up with an ///M

I just can't allow that

Going down the freeway yesterday headed home and an Acura MDX kept tailgating me at 85 mph. SMH Of course this was right before the stretch of road where the local police like to set up with their laser guns. Wasn't running WAZE so I didn't take the bait.

I was in my M3 all day today and not one person tried to mess with me. I get my daily(1999 Integra) out to go fill up gas and there you have it, an F30 was on my tail, literally trying to force me to pull over to the right so he could pass for almost a mile. I would've pulled over earlier, but he kept high beaming me. So I slowed down and gave him the bird as I let him pass. Funny thing is, he took a right into the parking lot near where I pulled over. Some sh*t lol

Last week I took a small detour home. Came across an E92 M3 comp pack that wanted to play. I pulled away pretty easily. We pulled over at the next exit and talked.

Today I take the same detour to get some cheap Costco gas. Same stretch of hwy there's a E90 M3. Traffic was heavy and he gassed it a bit as I pulled up next to him but whatever, I knew he was just saying hey

Recently got an M4 and wow, I get at least one every two days here in Vancouver. Usually the guys who can match or pull are the ones with driving etiquette.

A red 1990s civic was trying to bait me and ended up just racing past. Few kms later, there he is pulled over by a cop.

Another memorable one is a 228i riding my blind spot matching my speed, so I decided to over take him so that I can take my exit in time and he starts flooring it too. (Couldn't slow down because he would too and there were cars behind me) Not nice and not smart either.

A C63S next to me at a red light signaled for me to roll down my windows. I did so and he complimented my car, and I did his as well.

Some moron in a jeep SUV with New Hampshire plates decided I was racing when he was sitting in the right lane and I down shifted next to him and ran ahead as the car in front of me moved over. He came up in the right lane when he could , paced me (as I had slowed to cruise around 80) and then floored it to show me who was boss. Well I have to tell you, he was certainly the boss. Sounded liked shit working so hard, I sat back and let him go. Just reminded me that only cool guys rev hard and race ahead - he who is in front wins! For me it's fun to pull on the highway, but the second I realize someone is in some cock matching contest I back off. Typically some pos who doesn't care about their car.

Camaro SS. Highway roll, raced from ~50kph up to about 200kph. It was dead-even through 3rd gear and I pulled a car or two ahead starting at around 150kph.... I hit the brakes before he did and was leading by no more than 1 carlength. (This occurred on a private road in Mexico of course). Even if I'd lost the race, let's be honest here.... he still woke up the next day and had to drive to work in a Camaro.

Like the rest of you, I find the M4 to be a douchebag magnet.... dudes in G35 coupes ALWAYS seem to pull the shoulders back in the "air lats" pose as soon as they see a younger white man in an M4.

And of course many of them also attempt to race from stoplights... but lately, I prefer to just roll away from the light extra slowly in those instances, especially when it's some greasy old turn in his mid-90's Mustang GT convertible with chrome rims. Why give haters the pleasure of seeing luscious curves of the M4's rear-end???

I actually can't remember the last time I drove without some dick trying to show off.

I may not be old physically, but I am an old soul. I've been through life altering car accidents, and am not interested in putting myself, as well as those around me, at risk; simply to "prove" that I'm faster.

I remember driving to Atlantic City in the pouring rain, to the point where I was driving 60mph so as to avoid aquaplaning on my sticky RE-71R, and some dick in a goddamned Ford Fiesta ST starts to swerve and driving like a complete douche. He finally pulls to my side (rather than just blowing by me) and motions he wants to race. My wife literally looks at me and asks if this moronic jizzrag has lost his mind.

Anyway, shit like that happens all the time. I'm over it, and don't care anymore. I just continue doing what I'm doing

Oh the irony of this post.

Get over yourself. What do you think the guys in more expensive/faster/better cars than the M4 say about you?

I've encountered my share of asshats in M cars......and every other brand out there. Douchebags come in all shapes and sizes. Your comment about what someone else drives gives M car owners the reputation they have.
