For those who have installed clear bra...

Was your installer able to find a template for the GTS or did they have to custom cut it? Obviously the hood and splitter are different than the regular M4. What about the front bumper and fenders?

My installer is coming up with nothing so any specifics or details is appreciated for a template that would work.

Check out advanced automotive films Instagram They just did a full wrap on GTS. I wouldn't trust anyone though to custom cut. Had my previous car's paint cut by the installer.

Agree. The xpel installer cut into my cf roof of my m3 last year. That's after telling him not to cut on my car.

FWIW, the best installers will use a fine scalpel to lightly score the film while it's on the car (not cutting all the way through). A slight tug will then allow the Xpel to separate cleanly along the score line.

Watching a talented installer at work is a sight to behold.

I'm sure others have done clear bra. Any input appreciated as advanced automotive films didn't seem to want to help out.

I know Sticker City in LA has also done a full body XPEL wrap on a GTS.

They also have a YouTube video of it...

Correct. I watched my installer cut while on the car, no problems. A skilled installer is key

We had our hood custom cut while on the car. Please request that your installer take special care when removing the black hood vent. Our installer also noted that the film was difficult to tuck under the hood due to the finish/texture of the raw carbon fiber.

Sounds like no templates then? Can they at least use an m4 template for bumper and fenders (minus of course the splitter?) thanks for the replies all.

It appears the front bumper is the same as a regular M4 (Minus the spliter), so you should be able to use the regular M4 template.

Thanks for all the replies. Just picked up and dropped the car off today. Always hurts to let it go after less than a day of ownership but it'll make the reunion all the more sweet.

It surely will be worth the wait knowing you will be protected. You getting the full wrap?

I like to do all the impact areas. Full front and hood, mirrors, A pillar and a strip of the roof, lower rockers, behind rear wheels, and the wing. Very rare to get stone chips anywhere else.

The car is an M4, XPEL has all the templates for an M4, should not be that hard to get if you don't want any cutting on the paint. They might not have a template for the hood but that will be one solid piece any ways. The lip and spoiler might have to be custom done. Am I missing something?

No, probably not. Sometimes they change the fenders or bumpers too and my installer just wanted to be sure. Some changes are subtle but would effect installation. After seeing the car, that was his conclusion too.
