Replace battery warning
So, I've done some search on the topic, but haven't found a similar situation discussed. I have a replace battery warning triangle and a note when I shut off the car. I did at one time have to jump start the car, and since then I have had the notice.
I priced a battery replacement at the dealership, since it seems no one offers an aftermarket option for the lithium ion battery. The price is around $2k. It's been about two years and the car starts up fine, even after two weeks of sitting in cold weather. I've tried to clear the code and re-register with BimmerCode, but that doesn't seem to be an option. I'm wondering if anyone thinks the ctek charger will get this battery back up to a point where I can clear the code. All input is appreciated. |

Those LiPo batteries are supposed to last more than 5 years, but if yours actually needs replacement, you'll have to either get one at the dealership or order one from another supplier. BMW of Silver Spring (getbmwparts.com) used to sell them for local pickup only, but checking their website, they no longer do so.
